For those of you who have watched, what player (past or present) would you draw a similarity to?

Is this guy really that good? Everything about him seems very average? I have very little knowledge of the French league but from the small sample size I have seen he just seems meh...

I guess if this guy is number 1 on Poch's list then who am I to question him but he just seems underwhelming from the little I've seen.

That’s what I was saying last season. He looks good in the cut ups highlighting the good moments but in the full games I have watched he does not seem that consistently involved to really influence games. Plus his first touch can be a little suspect if not atrocious at times. That’s something that will not be forgiven in the PL which is so much faster.

I leave to the experts on SC to decide.

Its quite strange actually because somebody on here likened him to a sissoko and dembele mix which i can defiantly see when i watch him play. The way he uses power and footwork in busy areas if the pitch to get the job done (like dembele) and burst out of an area with the ball with power and break lines to play a forward pass (like sissoko). I think thats pretty accurate imo. He is a box to box midfielder for sure and somebody ud want to go after the ball in a pressing system rather than a sit back and shield type although i think he could do that too.
I cant really think of anybody similar right now although im thinking it over.

He would be great in a pressing team with sissoko, feeding the forward players.

Thanks. Do you think he could reach the potential of a Yaya Toure at his peak?

I would say, he is more like Wanyama of 2 seasons back + with a far better passing range.
I’d you take Dembele’s ability to hold the ball, but give him Sissoko’s actual touch (looser, longer strides) plus some passing.

Hard to say but id fully expect him to go up at least another level under poch. You remember dembele at his peak for spurs when he bossed midfields and opposition players would often come out saying he is a nightmare to play against? Id expect him to become that player. Against the big teams in big games i think he would thrive and come alive. Nld, scousers, city with there lighter weight midfield players would hate him.

Nothing I have seen so far suggests he can reach those heights just yet, Yaya was extremely underrated imo, his long range passing was a sight to behold, honestly even KDB might struggle to compare it was that good and he brought with that such pace and power, driving through centrally whilst also having such a great defensively minded head on his shoulders and a hell of a shot. Not sure Ndombele comes close to that yet but almost nobody does imo.

If we really are in discussions with Lyon & Aulas about him Levy must have been fuming yesterday seeing Aulas come out with that statement, lol.

Par for the course for Aulas. It would probably have worried Levy more if he didn't do it as he'd then think he was overpaying and Ndombele's legs would drop off as soon as he arrived at the Lane .

I don't think Levy would be fuming. Probably the opposite.

Aulas is essentially imploring a massive rival to come in & bid on a prized asset.
So come in & bid on a player that will weaken us & possibly shore up an issue PSG may have.

If you're a Lyon supporter, it wreaks of desperation & probably pisses many of them off.

If the big boys were that interested, we'd know it by now.

Yaya was criminally underrated what a player he was imo one of the best the epl had seen.

It reads to me like aulas wants to mess with Levy hence “I contacted psg to give them an opportunity” comment. Create bidding war that may or may not exist and have some fun with Daniel in the process

Agreed, I honestly think in terms of pure football ability he was the best midfielder we have had in the prem.

He was quality. The one player he often struggled against though was our own Dembele. I swear he swatted Yaya off the ball one time lol.

Just had a 3 hour drive and I swear, for the last hour of the drive I kept thinking.... “shall I pull over and see if there has been ITK on this lad or any of the others I’m excited about?”

I decided not to on the basis, the longer I wait the more chance there is that there will be news when I get home.

Just got home and logged on..... very disappointed!

This process will be my summer!

I don’t think Juventus is that an attractive option given racism in the Italian game. He may want to speak to Moise Kean about that.
