Interesting that Herc referred to the noises about us having a kitty as after the most brilliant most fantasticist ever champions league semi final on Wednesday Gary Lineker Rio Ferdinand and Glenn Hoddle were discussing where we go from here and will we buy players and Glenn said the club has money to spend Lineker said something like "we hope" and as Rio started talking over them Glenn mouthed to Lineker "we have I know, yes I know"
along with Hercules' latest I'm taking that as solid ITK.

I hadn't noticed Hoddle say that before, good spot. Promising signs.

A wee bit of info with Sess. We would ideally like to do a package deal that includes his twin Steven. I am told Steven is keen, but Fulham are not. Expect Sess to be wrapped up though. Not putting no timeline on it.

N’Dombele, we have a chance is all I can say. Anything else I add to that would be my own opinion. Noises are we have a substantial kitty, and DL was fully aware of what Poch he was going to say. My opinion on that is to force father Joe Lewis.

This doesn’t surprise me. Heard similar last summer.

Tbh, I was surprised when Joe Lewis was mentioned.

It's not like he's been a sugar-daddy for us in the past. I always thought he was happy to sit back and let THFC run itself in a sustainable way.

Bit of a strange one if Poch thinks he can force his hand, although perhaps he knows something we don't.

Cheers Greek God aka Hercules!!!!

Re : Bale , his team have done excellent for him financially and he has a position of power with the money Real have to pay for some yrs to come, almost betting on him finishing his career at Real. As for a move and especially to us, in football terms it can be a reality money wise, defo not and not becuase its us Tottenham, i could not even see Man city wanting him due to the financial implications

hell no to bale for me. i dont want him anywhere near our players. its like an ex who cheated an left us albeit with a richer guy, but still a huge no. who knows what will he say when people ask him hows madrid like? if he says " nah dont go, stay here" of course that would be good. but what if he says " well i won trophies, it was amazing playing in bernabeu, oh my favourite food, the women are insane blah blah blah".

i dont want to take any chance.
2ndly it changes the unity of the locker room. who is the bigger dog in the locker room now? i dont see the point of risking everything we've built for an injury prone post prime overpaid player

Ah - re Joe Lewis. A few of my peers met his old FX Broker, who's now head of FX at Guvnor. They're not close anymore but didn't realise Joe has 1bn worth of art! And the old git owns the ranging bull statue on wall st! minted innit

You mean the big bronze statue titled Charging Bull? Wow didn't know that. Fucker. Sell that damn thing and buy a player! ;)

Actually Hercules is Roman, the Greek equivalent would be Heracles. :geek:

I thought that his agent is Raiola. Also has Pogba in his stable.
1.We do not deal with him, so I never thought we were in with a chance.
2. Raiola has just been banned. How do any of his players get transferred this window?

IIRC Raiola isn’t his main agent, he brought him on last summer as a sort of fixer.

Barca just bought Griezmann for 125M as well. They are fucking mad. What is it now, the 5th 100m+ purchase in the past 2-3 transfer windows? I can really see Madrid sweating a bit over the purchases Barcelona are doing in De Jong/Griez/De Ligt, they might actually try to offload Bale at any cost possible just to match Barcelona in some sort of galactico signing. I think Mbappe or Neymar to Madrid will drag on a lot this summer.

The 3 months ban, assuming the start date was a couple of days ago, when the news broke, would prevent transfers involving English based players. However the EU countries have their transfer window ending later than ours.

So we aim for small time players only? The best players in the world, the ones that make a real difference generally have an ego. If we want to dine at a the top table with top players then we have to play that game otherwise the best we’ll hope for is top 4 with the occasional final.

If Bale is available and doable we would be crazy to not look at it closely unless we want to just be also-rans for ever and ever.

I don't think having the funds is ever in doubt, it's the 'getting-it-over-the-line' that always seems to be the problem.
