If ever there was a time to release a new kit, it would be in time for the champions league final. Every fan, myself included, would buy one to mark this beautiful historic milestone
Then throw it on the floor and jump up and down on it if we lose?

Be typical that the kit would be disgusting and/or we'd lose.

If we won, we'd be doing it in an awful shirt (not that anyone would genuinely give a fuck at that point. I'd happily wear a brown, green, yellow and red strip if it meant we could lift the Champions League trophy).

If we lost, there'd be a petition to never wear it again, which wouldn't be ideal for Nike.

Yeah, I’ve always wondered this. I’d like us to play the last home game of the season in the new kit for the following season. I’d have thought that this would be the ultimate advertisement for the new shirt. Kit launches via the media outlets are a waste of time, plus shirt usually leaked before then also.
If people could buy the new kit before tootling off on their summer holidays, I think shirt sales would go up by a decent percentage too.
I think the last couple of seasons the kit launches have coincided with the US summer tour - to get people here to buy more shirts.

This year's home kit design is a mess. Surely Nike can produce a new season home kit with a return to a more classic design like last year, that will be worn in both the final and next season home games. If the kit is promoted that this is the new season shirt that is being debuted at the CL final then I doubt fans would revolt against the shirt. Yes it's a gamble, but if we win the CL then everyone will want to have a replica of the shirt that was worn in the final. I just hope it's not the current awful home kit.

My brother (hughton on COYS) is in Amsterdam today at a Nike conference. Says he has seen the away kit for next season. It's sky blue and is reminiscent of 1987 Hummel away kit (it has the NIKE logo in line with what we have heard from elsewhere).

EDIT: Now says he has seen all the training gear. "It's beautiful".
Think the ones with that logo are the third kits mate. Would fit more in line with what we’ve heard of a dark people away kit.

Do you think it will come out before the final - do you think we will wear it for the final?

Doubt it, we seem to release our new kits later on nowadays - feel like we always used to play in the new kit on the last game of the season but haven't done that for years.

No lets continue with the green kit with the lane and surrounding area within the design

It would be an opportunity to make a shitload of money and sales... id imagine a high percentage would buy the kit specifically ... would be a shame as im looking to get one... I have the green one which i love

If I remember correctly, last season Liverpool released their next kit for this season and even played in it for the last game the end of the Premier League but then wore the old kit for the Champions League final ... not sure if it was a superstitious thing or whether UEFA wouldn't allow them to change kits...

If we still have plenty of stock left for this seasons home kit I'm sure they would rather shift those.

Loving all the dark blue/purple ones that have appeared but I’ve always been a sucker for any of our purple away or third tops.

Would definitely buy my first shirt in about 5 years of that’s one of them

As we are the home team for the final I assume we will be donning the monstrosity that is the home shirt with white shorts combo.
I'd much rather we wore the green kit.
