Although I am not doubting the ITK on Spurs' interest in de Ligt and Ndombele....I refuse to get carried away
Looks like de Ligt has Barca (or maybe Bayern if Ten Hag goes there) written all over him. And for Ndombele, well, Levy has to go through Aulas...plus other more free spending clubs...

Well, Ten Hag said he thought de Light will either join Barca or Bayern (https://www.goal.com/en/news/ajax-boss-reveals-de-ligt-will-join-barcelona-or-bayern/ )...but van der Sar thinks La Liga or the EPL...

Matthijs de Ligt could move to Premier League this summer according to Ajax director Edwin van der Sar
Matthijs de Ligt has been a transfer target for Manchester City and Barcelona, and Van der Sar admits the defender's final days are closing in at Ajax.
"I think these will be De Ligt’s final games with Ajax, but I hope he goes out on a high,' Van der Sar told Sky Sport Italia.
"He’s been here since he was a child and will end up at a big club. I think he’ll go to England or Spain."

Ziyech wears cool shoreditch hipster glasses in post match interviews - it's a yes from me.

Yes we are keen on 2 of Ajax’s players. Lgit and one out of two of Ziyech or the other kid. Talk with N’Dombele is very real, and very possible.

If this is all true and we do get them (fingers crossed), then I don’t see Poch leaving the club any time soon.

Thanks for the info Hercs.

What’re the chances of getting business tied up early so we have a couple of signings done before the final? I reckon almost impossible given our track record but surely we want to try and capitalise on our increased global exposure as a club in the next three weeks?

It's the beginning of May. No point getting carried away if you want to keep your sanity.

I love your optimism, but we're shit at getting deals done during the transfer window, let alone outside of it :ROFLMAO:

Not going to get carried away this year but I think long term if our plans are to become one of the big elite teams over the next 10-20 years, I don't think we could have got more fortunate than to open our brand new best in the world stadium and then end up on a run to the Champions League final where we are going to have all the worlds eyes on us.

I imagine there's a lot of players who were out of reach suddenly see us as a great option, not to mention that from what I understand we have the best in class training facilities and allowing as an example the likes of the Brazilian national team to train and stay there, I imagine word will spread how great it is to train there everyday. You couple this with us looking at potential stadium sponsors, the fact we are tied in with the NFL at the same time we are in the champions league final. How many Americans are going to tune into that game and then catch wind oh they're also hosting NFL games and have great facilities for the teams.

Honestly if this is the start of the new era where we are aiming long term to get near the levels of United in terms of revenue and then have that appeal for players, we could not have asked for a better start. I'm incredible excited by the shot in the arm this is giving our long term plans.

Absolutely agree with you re long term plans. And to achieve this we really need to start seeing success, whether that comes in the form of continued champions league qualification, (really) challenging for the league, domestic trophies, winning the league/champions league.

I know most of us say it every end of season, but this summer does feel like it has to be the one in which we really push forward. We have the stadium, the facilities, 80% of the squad, the manager, the revenues.

Players like Ndombele and Ziyech, for me, will help propel this club forward. These are the players we need to be signing. I just hope we do it this summer.
