Zidane to be gone at the end of the season ?
Oh definitely not...nothing to be won now..the sides he's putting out with Bale and Courtois in are to help decide who stays and who goes. He inherited this squad....next season will determine his future (y)

We will be up against them in Munich.

The two semi-final games will be played on Tuesday, July 30. The first game of the tournament will see Real Madrid face Tottenham Hotspur, before FC Bayern and Fenerbahçe Istanbul go head to head later in the evening. The losing teams will play for third place on Wednesday, July 31, before the winners meet for the final. Kick-off is at 6:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. respectively, games will last 90 minutes, and—if necessary—be followed directly by a penalty shootout. The spectators will be able to watch all four teams play on both days.

Zinedine Zidane has criticised Gareth Bale, saying he "did not know if he's focused on Madrid".

Just come home Gaz, please.

Heard that (or similar) on the news on radio 2 earlier. My first & only thought was, RM starting the media spiel to make Bale look the villain.

Jonathan Barnett didn't waste any time though, and instantly came out and said Bale is 100% committed to the club.

I have a feeling this may get ugly.

Barnett will insist RM pay up his contract if they want him gone. No cheap way out for RM.

If news articles are true then Bale fucked off and made his own way back from the game without the rest of the squad.

If that’s true then it’s not hard for Zidane to make those comments and certainly doesn’t show him in the best of light.

If I remember correctly Danny Blanchflower the Captain of our greatest ever team normally went on his own to and from matches. Was he fucking off as well when he did that ?

Exactly...and if I remember rightly he did that because he was the captain....just kept that little bit of distance to maintain authority. Times change....they just want to get rid of Bale so it's any opportunity for bad publicity at the moment. Zidane's a wily old ?

There was an interesting comment by one of the Spanish guys on The Totally Football Show this week. He said he's heard that Bale is threatening to just retire from football if Madrid want to sell him. He's going to make sure that they don't get a penny from selling him against his wishes.

Not sure I quite believe that. If he was petty enough to want to just fuck them over then surely he'd either demand they pay off the rest of his contract to terminate it, or just run his contract down. If he retires early he's shooting himself in the foot more than he is Madrid. It hurts them more to have to keep paying his wages. Also Bale never struck me as being that petulant to be honest

If it's true that he's said it I imagine that he's just telling them he won't be forced into anything. I certainly wouldn't expect him to retire before his contract runs out. He could easily just stay there, not play and hit the golf course every day after training. Not a bad way to live really.

His wage is too high for such a player with his injury record...

Agreed....don't think he's a "Sanchez" who will just do nothing and take the cash....compromise required by both sides....they sell him cheap and he takes a wage drop.
Would he return to the Premiership I wonder ?......don't want to spoil the memories I have of him so please not back to Spurs.

I'd still take him back, could have much worse replacements for Llorente and/or Janssen .

And while Bale looks to be on his last legs there, another of our old boys is perhaps heading out, too -

Gareth Bale wants to stay at Real Madrid but he does not have the full backing of Zinedine Zidane, says the Wales international's agent.

Bale's contract extends until 2022 but he was left out of the matchday squad for Sunday's 3-2 win over Villarreal.

After the game, Zidane told Real's website: "You can interpret it as you wish. I need to pick a squad of players and some are going to miss out."

On Wednesday, Bale's agent Jonathan Barnett told Sky Sports News: "He wants to stay.

"I am not sure that Mr Zidane wants him to stay but at the moment Gareth wants to stay.

"He has got a contract, he will quite happily see it out until 2022. He has been and is, in my opinion, one of the top three or four players in the world.

"This game is a game of opinions and Mr Zidane doesn't think that.

"That is his opinion, he is entitled to it, I won't criticise him."

Asked if Bale might return to the Premier League at some point, a smiling Barnett said: "It certainly is possible, if somebody puts their hand in their pocket and pays us what we think he deserves.

"It is going to be a lot of money!"

The only two that could afford to pay him half a million a week are United & City
