You are not actually the problem for those who want to stand in the south stand as your view is unaffected by either way.

If I’d not been disabled and bought a ticket midway up the south upper, an area that hasn’t been designed for safe standing, and suffered an injury that made standing impossible why would I be a problem? Why if that was the case shouldn’t I have as much right to watch a game, as you do? Health can change over night, but they won’t put you in a different section if that happened.

There's quite a lot of ifs in that scenario. But I would imagine you could ask the club to move to a different stand. Not every seat is designated to a season ticket holder.

But where do I move too, already mentioned the middle north is up and down, they won’t transfer someone for a problem in an area paying £1,200 to the areas that most probably do sit down.

I totally understand the South lower will stand, and any area that they install the barriers if safe standing is ever brought back, but because someone can’t stand but wants to be involved why should they be forced to pay £500+ more because of it

Sat down tonight again and the atmosphere was shit. 10 year old (literally) Brighton kid taking the piss. Not worth a grand this.

Saturday will be very telling.
80% sat down in the South again. Constant moaning from the bores as usual.

Genuinely astounds me that we built a single tiered stand for atmosphere to replicate two of the most famous atmospheres in world football and people just have no desire to get involved/ want to ruin it for others. It’s going to become a laughing stock. Once the novelty wears off, any semblance of atmosphere is going to die out bar a few moments in derbies

Brighton on a school night will always be a quiet affair. We save ourselves for the big games. Bit like the team.

So the list is getting longer for people not to buy a ST ever in the south stand

1, don’t buy a ticket in an area not designed for safe standing unless your willing to stand, because some people find it impossible to sing sitting down.

2, don’t buy a season ticket in an area not designed for safe standing if you think you might have a muscular injury sometime in the 9 month football season, that means don’t play football for your local club in case you suffer an injury

3, don’t buy a ticket in the same area like in 1 & 2 if your old, overweight, not of a certain height, or your absolutely shattered because you’ve been at work all day, hardly had any sleep because your sprog, next doors cat, dog, sprog, or wife have kept you awake all night and you’ve been at work all day, because some find it impossible to sing sitting down.

At this rate your need to apply for a medical to get a season ticket in the south stand, just because some failed to get a ticket in an area that is designed for safe standing, and can’t sing sitting down, and some of the moaners moaning, moaned that the club where wrong to have no concessions in the south stand.

It's not even as complicated as all that. It just boils down to don't buy a ticket in the South Stand if you have issues with standing. Whether that be because you're tired after work, have an old war injury, or just don't like standing is irrelevant. I know it's not technically right that people stand, but it's always been obvious that there would be lots of people standing there so if you struggle to stand for whatever reason then common sense tells you not to go in that area. RIghtly or wrongly that's just the way it is.

As I've said earlier in the thread, anyone with the tiniest bit of basic common sense knows that the home end behind the goal is typically somewhere that lots of people stand in, and in our case where the club have designed it to be a purpose built "atmosphere-generating" single tier that becomes even more obvious. I just find it incredibly hard to believe that you bought a ticket there with absolutely no idea that people would be standing when it's been more than bleedin' obvious since before they even started building the thing.

South Upper kicked off in a few spots last night
Hopefully EVERYONE will stand Saturday v West Ham & then next Tuesday v Ajax then we won’t have these arguments

I want to stand every game but sometimes it is and feels impossible

I didn't buy a ST there I'm a disabled member that has Sat in the North Middle 3 times (v Legends it didn't matter), and 2 in the South, and just lucky that the area in the south allows us to sit, and see without getting up unless we have too. I still sing my heart out, and shout at the ref, but apparently I'm an old bore, and not as passionate(y)

Just for the record - simply singing does not create an atmosphere.

It is the buzz/energy in the crowd that comes from the crowd having "energy" - sitting in your seat singing, is not energy.

Think about it like this - when you go see an orchestra play - you sit and enjoy the music.

When you go to a rock concert, you stand and are part of the environment - you create that primal atmosphere.

apparently you can't be passionate if you sit down:cautious:
I didn't say that, of course you can sing be passionate etc...but a lot of people think they are more passionate standing. The two aren't mutually exclusive.

Disappointed today. Was sure everyone in the South Upper would stand all game but most supporters up there couldn’t bloody wait to sit down

I stood for 25mins and had to give in eventually
Really sad atmosphere v the spammers today

The 12.30 obviously doesn’t help but still a pretty pathetic effort all round. The team really needed us today in West Ham’s Cup Final but we never really turned up

If we don’t all stand v Ajax then we could very soon have the 2nd Library in North London!!

Sit down and behave.
DL has built the best stadium in the world, but has imo missed a trick.
The stadium fits 62000 and the South stand fits 17000, I think there are plenty of other seats available for fans that don't want to have to stand or be part of what I thought the South stand was going to be like.
Levy should have advertised the South stand as a ultras style stand with the 1882 group involved, the tickets for that end should have been cheaper too, it wouldn't really dent a hole in our pockets, that stand should be rocking with a surfing flag at KO and a wall of noise full of energy.
Instead all we have is stewards telling everyone to sit down and behave

We have imo missed a trick and wasted what could have been an amazing home end.

Do none of you realise that standing is against the regulations of the game? The club and those following the rules are not just trying to ruin your fun.
