Maybe it is snobbish, I don't know. Either way it's the truth. I would not support that style of football, regardless of the opponent. They're a Premier League team, not a Conference team, and those travelling fans have paid a premium to watch zero ambition.

Each to their own I guess.
As I said, they don't play like that every week...only against the top 6.
Their fans probably understand it better than a regular CL teams fans do, we've been relatively spoilt.

Completely agree. He was lethargic and careless all game long. So many times you'd see him either not challenging for a cross or very slowly reacting to the play around him. Made it very difficult for the players around him to feed off of his lay offs.

I really feel sorry for Vinny, though. How he can watch a forward play like that and not wonder just how lowly his manager estimates his ability... as I think you'd find a vast majority of center forwards in the PL would've done better than Fernando tonight. Vinny I'm sure looked at what was going on and thought.... I certainly can't do any worse than that.

I forgot that when Vinny plays all he is is offer to receive the ball near post his his back to goal and his arse backing into whoever is marking him

To think we are 3rd with that strike partnership. Makes me jealous of Burnley with Barnes and Woods

Thanks for the 3 points, felt good. Sometimes you have to grind out the results. After the round of results just gone getting the points was the main thing.

At one point the last 5 mins action areas showed the ball had been in our defensive 3rd for 0% of the time. I really don't think I've seen that before.

even in his prime he was not. We need a pacy striker as an alternative like aubameyang for games like this.
A pacy striker would have made fuck all difference tonight.

We need someone who can take on players from a standing start, like Ginola used to do. Hazard and sterling put defenders on their arses consistently.

This is the type of player we need.

I'm so glad we won.

Sat in a bar in the Algarve with strangers and I jumped up screaming 'yes' thinking it was in when Toby hit the post.

Avoided a real egg on face moment

Can't blame Brighton for doing what they do they need to survive in this league, they nearly got a point which would have made all the difference.

I worry about having llorente up top against ajax. Poch may need to go completely different there.
Would rather Son and Moura playing up top, the set up today had them both wide but from a deep starting position.

and just contributed to our slow play. as when either received it they had two defenders in front of them.

Hate to break it to you but Toby didn't score.

1. Interested in seeing where the line goes in terms of what you can do to an opposition player in your own box as long as he gets a shot off. Gut punches? Headbutts? Flay them alive?

2. I like Hughton and they almost got what they came for, but seeing a PL side spend the entire second half not even trying to get hold of the ball, but just boot it in the general direction of our half of the pitch was kinda sad. I guess they saw what happened to Palace and Huddersfield when we caught them on the break, but it was like seeing a League 2 outfit trying to defend a lead with the clock ticking towards 90 minutes.

Redknapp is such a wet wipe.

Brighton didn't deserve to lose.

They literally set up not to lose and do nothing else. They got exactly what they deserved.

Jamie Redknapp "they deserved at least a point."

o_O a point maybe but more... You have to cross the halfway line to merit that surely?
They didn't deserve a single point at all. Come here with no intention of playing football in the slightest. Players leaving boots in on a number of our players, keeper time wasting constantly. Fuck Brighton and i hope they go down.

Llorente was meat and drink for Dunk.
