The Burnley keeper was booked after 31 minutes last night. Imagine if Joe Hart had been booked after two hat amount of time when we played them, the game would have been a much more enjoyable watch. The ref let him get away with time wasting all game, they always seem to let the keepers off. We won it in a satisfying way though in the end, I wouldn’t change that.

Basically if the Brighton goalie time wastes badly tonight, I bet the ref doesn’t book him until well into the second half. The officials are so inconsistent.

We the crowd need to get on his back if he is bad tonight. If he is wasting time the crowd letting the ref know early on can sometime force the players and sideline staff to react, which then puts the ref under pressure to do something to stop it.

Just hope we do the bizz, I know Brighton are in trouble, but watching a lot of football they have been dragged into this, through a time when they have struggled to find the top corner, and their opponents have scrambled it in. Hopefully they will be as open as they where when they lost at home 5-0 though going down to 10 didn’t help.

Hopefully Son will have his scoring boots on, or anyone. The trouble is with football the unexpected happens, before their really poor run they defended well, when we played City in CL we scored harder chances than the ones we missed on Saturday

I caught a bit of talk shite last night and Goldstein claimed that his Spurs supporting mate had said that finishing in the top 4 is more important than the CL semis.

Does he even understand what complete bollocks he is saying IF of course it was true in the first place....

Biggest game tonight since City...

They shouldn't focus on winning the champions league, they need to focus on qualifying for the champions league.

We do that to the ref every time a goalie timewastes. It makes no difference.

How long are they legally allowed to hold on to the ball.....maybe the team and crowd as one need to shout/scream/holler 1, 2, 3, 4 etc....

It surprises me they don't have a rule in place for consistency, if they time it at any longer than a certain amount to restart the game, certainly at the very least the ball on the spot let-alone all the nonsense actually retrieving the ball. You can only have consistency if they're all singing off the same guidelines sheet.

Are you saying that or are you saying he was saying that?

They're saying that, at least that's the stupidity I'm boiling their point down to anyhow. Personally think all our focus should be on winning the semi finals atm and believe we have enough quality in the squad to get over the line in the prem even if we focus on champs.

Disagree. The maxim “the next game is the most important” has never been truer. Right now we should be focussed 100% on winning against Brighton tonight. Then the focus shifts 100% to West Ham at the weekend. Strongest team each game please (without taking risks with injured players). Then 100% focus on Ajax. Etc.

I appreciate your sentiment but personally I think if we get the win tonight then I'd probably take some liberties with the West Ham game, we are so short in so many areas that I'd like to rest probably Wanyama, Moura and Llorente from playing at West Ham, they'd love nothing more than to bait us into a battle to exhaust us before Ajax. I'm aware my opinion will not be the popular choice though and can completely see the other side of the coin.

My point is quite simple and for Goldstein and his mate if he exists, what is the point of finishing in the top 4 atleast if suddenly CL games are not important?

Hence why hes talking bollocks that isnt even logical....

Right, the ultimate defeatist, small time, nonsensical paradigm. Let's make sure to qualify for a tournament we under no circumstance should want to try to win. :wideyed:

It's insane, I've had a few people try and debate the same with me, it's such stupid logic, You have to take your opportunities when they're presented to you. I'd risk everything to give us best chance of winning the champions league this time. Fortunately we have a kind run in the prem so even if we take some risks with line-ups to rest players, we should get over the line.

eriksen really needs a rest for one game soon

I have faith that our physios and coaching team with some of the best monitoring systems in the world will make that call. Some players are just freaks and don't suffer with fatigue like others.
