Match: ___ Premier League - Day 33 - (re-scheduled)

When: ____ Tuesday April 23rd 2019

Where: ____ Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

Kick Off: ____ 7:45pm

Referee: ____ Chris Kavanagh

Team Form: ____ Spurs WWWLL ____ Brighton LLLLD __ (All competitions)

We have only lost on eof our 6 previous home league games against Brighton (W3 D2 L1), winning the last two by a 2-0 score line in December 1982 and December 2017.

Brighton are winless in their last five meetings with us in acompetitions, drawing one and losing four since 2-1 league win in April 1983.

We have won all three of our home games in all competitions since moving into our new stadium, scoring 7 goals and conceding none. We have lost 4four PL home games this season, just one fewer than we had lost at home in our three pervious PL campaigns combined. However five of our last six home defeats have been against "big six" opposition, with a 1-3 reverse against Wolves in December the exception. Noe of our last 67 PL games have ended 0-0 - the longest current such run in the division, and our longest ever run without a goalless draw in the competition.

Brighton have failed to score in their last five PL games - the longest current run in the competition, and the joint-longest such run in total this season (Southampton also five). Brighton have lost all ten of their PL away games against "big six" opponents, conceding 22 goals and scoring just once twice.

We haven't lost a Premier League home game on a Tuesday since August 2007 (1-3 vs Everton), winning seven and drawing one since then.

Lucas Moura scored a hat-trick in his last home Premier League game, a 4-0 win against Huddersfield. He had only scored three goals in his previous 14 home games in the competition.

Brighton Manager Chris Hughton has only won one of his seven Premier League games managing against us, his old club as a player, a 1-0 win over Tim Sherwood's (another old Spurs player) side as Norwich boss in Feruary2014.

Final stretch where we cannot afford to fuck up. We should try to get the remaining 12 points starting with 3 from this game, to maintain 3rd place without any help from Manu, Chelsea or Arsenal.

Part of me doesn't mind a Brighton consolation goal, as long as they are already 3 or 4 goals down. I really don't want a West Ham player being the first opponent to score at NWHL on Saturday. Albeit two clean sheets this week will do fine.

A nice little 2-0 win, a goal after 20mins, then another in the first 5min of the second half.

By all accounts, they barely ventured into the Wolves half for their game at the weekend, so there's almost no chance they'll deviate from that approach at our place. They'll look to set pieces to nick a goal and probably little else other than keeping us out.

In that case, 4231 with two center halves and one defensive midfielder should be enough to ensure we keep vigilant at the back while maximizing our tons of possession. Rose, Trippier, and ideally Winks would come back in for me. Alli, Moura and Eriksen buzzing around Son would be good up front. And an early goal or two to ruin their game plan would be great.

Excited for this as it will be my first game at the new stadium. The results from Sunday and Monday are a real bonus so no better motivation for the team. I am sure it will be a tough game and maybe one the crowd will need to help us get over the line. I will do my part. COYS.

I think we will see a few rested tonight, particularly in defence although in all fairness that is the only part of the team where players can be rested.

Im going for a 4-1 win for us.

We've been thrown a lifeline by the piss poor efforts of our rivals. Hope to God we can grab hold of it and haul ourselves clear of the melee.
