Problem is we can't afford to wait and see. Dier I think has just genuinely been unlucky this season (appendicitis isn't exactly an injury) whereas Wanyama seems pretty crocked. I'd sell Wanyama if we can and replace him with a more progressive DM.

I personally think dier is on the listen to offers list.
Jjetset said a while back that people would be surprised if they knew who we are allowing to leave in the summer.

It was appendicitis at first followed by tonsillitis and now hip flexor injury.

We still need to sign 2 midfield players, one a dedicated CM/box to box type and the other a DM.

I actually think we need three. One for Wanyama, one for Dembele. The third for Eriksen leaving/Winks being injury prone.

Also, I don't rate Dier as a midfielder at all.

Of course, mine was just sort of the no-brainers. If Eriksen leaves I would definitely add another midfielder.

No chance in hell I would pay 45m for a player from the championship.
I doubt they would ask that for him too

That could be the price for Brooks for example, someone that has proved he can do well in the PL. Paying that much for someone that has only played well in a lower division is madness, specially after the recent example of Sessegnon, who looked completely out of depth in the PL.

Take your point, but I think Sessegnon and Grealish are very different types of player. For me, from what I’ve seen Grealish is more geared up for a higher level.

I honestly think you might struggle to get Brookes for 45 as well. Unfortunately the Chelsea’s and City’s have bumped prices up for everyone and even mediocre players go for 20-30million (look at Everton) plus there has always been an extra bounty on English players. Save for the odd gamble type deal like what we did with Dele.

Promotion or not, Grealish needs to get a move on. I think he needs to leave Villa this summer, even if it’s not to us. He needs to kick on and start playing top level football and get playing regular in Europe.

Anyone seen much of Maxi Gomez? Marca saying we’ve bid £25m, and Celta would sell for £30m. Although if they get relegated he’s available for what we’ve bid.

All I know is he’s 22, from Uruguay, West Ham wanted him in Jan, and he’s always described as a big, burly, front man.

In before someone suggests Donny van de Beek

With all the attention on De Jong, De Ligt, Neves etc., the one who’s under the radar at Ajax is Donny van de Beek.

He was superb vs Real Madrid and Juventus recently. A versatile midfielder who presses brilliantly, has excellent technique, and great footballing IQ.

He’s played in a more advanced role to accommodate De Jong, contributing 24 goals & assists in 48 matches. But from what I’ve read, he’s more of a no.6/8.

You're too late @Tottenhamboy85

Really like the look of van de Beek.

Hope Ajax are not blocking a move because half their team are on the way out.

Simple, we ease past Man City tomorrow, put on a hell of a show in the home leg against Ajax and then all their team will want to play for us next season, rejecting any approach from Barca or Bayern because they got to experience first hand the bottom-up filling pints.

As much as Ajax have impressed, PSV are reigning champs and it’s going to the wire domestically.

Let’s chill before we start trying to buy the leftovers of the side ( anyone bar De Jong and De Ligt )
Dusan Tadic is one of their key men...

But ive just patented the special 1.5 pint bottom-up filling 'Van de Beekers' cups.

But if they do come up, do we have a chance of still signing him? If not, we surely have to move on to other targets because we're in no position to wait a year to see if they're relegated & we can sign him then.

I guess (if they do get promotion & he wants to stay) there's the option to buy him & loan him back, giving him a year in the PL to get used to it again. However, once again, are we in a position to do such a thing?
If Villa are promoted. Grealish isn’t going anywhere.

Van De Beek's very good but for me I would much rather Grealish....without getting laughed out of town I don't see anything that special with De Jong that our own Harry Winks can't do.
