It’s a tough one to choose between Lucas and Llorente if Dele is fit.

On on one hand, we’re gonna be pinned back for long periods and Nando might give us an out ball, but then on the other hand, Lucas is in form and might help us on the counter.

Tactically Poch needs to be spot on here if we are to progress - we are going to have to expect a City onslaught form the get-go but as much as we are going to have to defend resolutely and work our bollocks off, we'll also have to use the ball efficiently and try our best to exploit City on the break.

I'd be amazed if Poch doesn't revert to a back 3 but the real question will be the midfield make up so i'd expect something like this;

Lloris

Alderweireld Sanchez Vertonghen

Trippier Sissoko Wanyama Rose

Alli Eriksen

Son

I think 3 at the back would be suicidal in this game. It concedes possession in midfield and leaves a gaping hole behind the full backs.

The problem with it is that the centre backs are reluctant to move out and cover the space left when the fullback advances.

We must play Lucas and son up front and look to hit them on the break. Llorente would offer us better hold up play but our inevitable lack of possession will render him virtually useless most of the time.

We can do it but we will need to press as we did the other night and have a real threat on the break.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see some sort of the 5-4-1 we used after about 30 mins in Dortmund. The problem is that without Kane either Lucas, Llorente or Son would get very isolated as the one up.

Didn’t we do something like that vs Dortmund?
Ha yes you're right we did actually but it was the home leg and so in fact we were the ones who needed to go out and score and win on the night. It worked a treat in the end because they played so well for 40 mins, couldn't score against great, if slightly lucky defending and ran out of steam

A very disciplined 4-4-2 sitting deep with Son and Moura up top playing like the last goal against Huddersfield might reap a result for us.

Defend for our lives

when we get the ball

Hooof the fuck out of it

Lucas and Sonny to terrorise their defense latching on to the ball...

Oh and think Verts will play left back with Sanchez on the right int he middle to cover off whats his face Trippier because Sane is gonna fuck him up...

I do think this is the best course of action, im going to be honest, this game may well be the game that my heart gives out, if I was shit scared about Dortmund 3-0 up, then Man Shitty will be fun with only a goal lead.

Winks and Sissoko are absolutely key to this, they've been our best CM pairing this season and really need them to start the game. Harry has turned into a big game player and rises to these occasions, we'll need his energy.
