His ( or agents) choice. Toby would've signed by now if wanted stay at Spurs. Maybe he wants to win something before finishes and Liverpool and Mancs are more likely to than us. Can't blame him.

I doubt he’ll stay in this league tbh

My personal view is he’ll end up in Spain again.

Edit: although my long standing opinion was he’ll see out this contract and move back to Ajax on a free.

My hope is that since hes turned 30 the top teams wont go for him.
Is there no chance he will stay?

We need to keep him and offer him and the likes of eriksen what they deserve.

£150k - £175k per week is fair in this market even though £200k plus is the going rate.

It’s a real shame Poch seems to have that much of a problem with him that he’d allegedly leave if he signs a new contract.

Toby and Verts together really is a thing of beauty.

Although Sanchez will improve and has more time on his side I guess.

The thought of replacing Alderwereld with the error prone Sanchez fills me with dread

Its no surprise that the defending is much better since he is dropped
Obviously Sanchez is a step down but he's not a complete liability.

Sanchez and Verts was our first choice pairing most of last season when Toby was injured/out in the cold. We came 3rd and our defence was hardly a disaster.

Agree. Good to have him learn with Jan for a season or two. He’ll be immense in a couple of years. Foyth coming through too. Not worried about CB.

Linked with Arsenal in today's BBC gossip column.
BBC Gossip column is literally garbage these days. They will share any gossip that gets a click. Here they are quoting Sun on Sunday which doesn't claim any sources just claims he is a player that could be of interest to them if they decide to be interested. Which is basically just a nothing statement.

He knows that our fans love him and would prefer if he signed a new contract with us. On that basis, I doubt that he would be disrespectful enough to join our bitter rivals. He’d have lots of choices if he does end up leaving us in the summer.

I agree to some extent but he might want to stay in London. If arsenal is the only alternative that is willing to give him what he wants I could see him go there. Most footballers are not fans and thats understandable - they have to do whats best for them and their families.

I’m sure Palace could afford £25m :cautious:

Juventus often sign players who are running their contracts down, wouldn't surprise me if he ended up there. Bayern could also do with a centre back as Boateng is finished.

I just can't see Toby staying, a huge deal awaits him in the Summer. He's a £40-£45 million defender available for £25 million. Any club signing him will save money on the transfer fee, but Toby and his team will take the £20 million saved by asking for higher wages/signing on bonus. Smart business from his team, but we do lose out.
