Match: ____ English Premier League (EPL) - Day 34

When: ____ Saturday 13th April 2019

Where: ____ Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

Kick Off:____ 12:30pm

Referee: ____ Lee Mason

Team Form: ____ Spurs WLLWW ____ Huddersfield LLLLL ___ (All competitions)

We are unbeaten in 8 matches in all competitions vs Huddersfield (W5 D3) since a three match losing streak between April 1955 and April 1956. Huddersfield have lost all three of their EPL meetings with us by an aggregate score of 0-8, with the Terriers landing just 9 shots on target.

We have just won just one of our last EPL games )D1 L4), though it was our last such match against Crystal Palace 2-0.

Huddersfield have lost 9 of their last 10 away EPL games (D1), with their only point in that that time coming against fellow relegation strugglers Cardiff.

We have played (57) and subsequently lost (13) more EPL games against sides starting the day bottom of the table than any other side in the competition. Our last such defeat came in May 2018 at WBA.

Since beating Man Utd 2-1 in October 2017, Huddersfield have lost 17 of their EPL games against "big six" opponents )D2); including each of the last 10 in a row. However their only points in that run have come away from home (vs Chelsea and Man City in May 2018).

12 of our last 14 EPL goals have been scored in the 2nd half of games, including 8 of our last 9 at home.

Kane has directly been involved in 5 goals in 3 EPL appearances versus Huddersfield (4 goals 1 assist). Unfortunately he will not be able to improve on this stat on this occasion due to injuries.

Huddersfield Goal Keeper Ben Hamer has conceded 17 goals in just 6 EPL appearances this season, conceding a goal on average every 27 minutes

We must NOT think this is gonna be a cake walk, and think we just have to step over the white line to get 3 points.

We must select our best possible team & do everything in our power to win the game. No other result is acceptable, so every effort must be made to achieve it.

3 man midfield with big Vic, Sissy and winks. Totally dominate them, no Kane (and possible Dele?) Lends itself to a front 3 of Eriksen, Son and Moura imo. Cant.see Huddersfield getting anything, they are toothless.

Good shout, if all are fit this should be our midfield going forward

If Dele is out as well I'd definitely expect Llorente to play.

We'll need him, to some extent anyway, for the rest of the season. He needs minutes and hopefully he scores to get the confidence going.

Lucas, Eriksen and Son supporting.

You jest, but I'd be very wary. As I said elsewhere, imagine the headlines:

Relegated Huddersfield inflict first home defeat at Tottenham's new stadium.

Got to keep it tight.

Doesn't matter mate. Anything can happen & it often does with us.

Minds could be on the CL game, players could also be thinking it's gonna be piss easy, be lackadaisical & get punished.

I'm just saying we've got to be taking care of business.

Hope Lamela is back.

Baffling what keeps happening to him with injuries.

Need to brush off the giving opponents respect nonsense, they're shit, we need to smash them because goal difference might be crucial come end of the season, we need 3 or 4, they're not as good at football as us and we need to show that.

Not showing too much respect is not the same as not showing any. Mark my words, complacency in that match will bite us on the arse super hard. Southampton and Burnley have hardly pulled up any trees this season and yet they've taken three points off us. Hopefully the players' memories aren't that short....

With all due respect Southampton and Burnley are different class to Huddersfield, they're one of the worst prem teams of all time. When I say no respect I mean we need to treat this the same way United used to treat teams back in the early 2000s

Fair point, it's not like we haven't been here before (Newcastle)
