Doubt it’d happen without a release clause, Benfica charge top dollar for their players and we look to underpay
So I'm assuming he's pretty decent then? (And thank you for the response)

I know he just regurgitates news from the press/internet, but what can people say about this player/link?
Dan James could be scum or Liverpool bound
I remember reading the "The Nowhere Men" By Michael Calvin and the scouts that watched him when he was 16 years old playing in the NextGen competition, were in awe of his ability and potential. Here's the bit they said about him

He's 23 years old now.

Yeah, I wasn't a fan of it due to the price vs our budget and needs. If we had an unlimited budget bring it on but I just didn't see a no brainer spot for him in the team.
This is one of the biggest reasons that not buying last year sets us back.I really wanted to sign him, but to be honest I also think the club might of been looking at him as a HG signing, that they would hope could be taken up a level.
on the RB, LB, WB's both do need upgrading, but CM, and DM even if cover for Dier should be our 1st aim. if we had the choice of a top midfielder that meant we had to stick with FB's, I'd get the midfielder. Trippier has had a bad season, but so have a lot of those that played the WC. Aurier has had injuries and personnel problems this season at times when he was due to play the next game. if we had to sell 1 of Trips or Aurier to be honest I'm not sure which 1 would be my choice to be gone. most probably Aurier as I don't think the rotation system we have suits him
Grimaldo over Sessegnon all day for me. The guy has electric pace and is very good going forward.
Does he have actual electric pace or is the same elecric pace we were told Aurier had?
He's undoubtedly a better footballer than Danny, but can he defend? Hmmm.
Plus, everyone and their dog are being linked to him, including the Scum and Citeh recently.
I would normally agree, but seeing that we seem to be scraping together scraps to buy the likes of Bowen and Grealish - no offense to them - but I feel like the potential and ceiling for a guy like Diawara is a lot higher from what he has shown. And seeing that he hasn't played a lot as you say, I think we could get him for something in the range of 20-25M which today is basically coffee change for a potentially world-class player.Has he actually shown that ability over the past 2 years though? Seems like he's stagnated as being not played very much by 2 separate coaches now at Napoli as he isn't playing much under Ancelotti either. He didn't play a minute for them in UCL and has only started 8 games all season.
This is one of the biggest reasons that not buying last year sets us back.
Last season I think we were "ok" with our fullback options and probably viewed the left side as a bigger issue. Now RB looks like a mess, LB isn't much better Rose is just healthy.
Now we're likely to lose two key players that have to be replaced. New issues pop up every year and they've snowballed to where it feels like there is no way to address them all with our limited budget.
My only issue with Grimaldo is he's made of glassGrimaldo over Sessegnon all day for me. The guy has electric pace and is very good going forward.
