I think we’ve earned just under £50m already

£50m, plus the revenue we'll make in the sale of extra tickets, TV rights if that isn't already in the mix, commercial gains if it's in our contracts with partnerships, bigger fan base revenue from overseas appeal etc it would be fascinating to know how much with all the other things included we make due to a good run in the competition.

Is £50m the earnings via making it to the quarter finals in prize money alone?

However you look at it, there is enough cash there to make a run at an actual quality footballer or two. It's whether or not that cash gets to see the light of day.

The clubs debts of £448m are, at present due to get paid off in 2022. These I'm guessing will get re-financed and given extensions etc but at the moment, over the last 10 years the club only has a net profit of cash in the bank of £24m (we currently have £172m cash flow but £148m as of 2017 is a loan that we need to/ have paid).

Good news is £500m of our stadium and training ground build has already been paid off, that's why we've been a bit ducky and divey over the last 10 years, the clubs incrementally been using its profits to pay off the build before we've even moved in. Should speed up the pay off period for the rest of the money we required

A lot of the CL money will go to the players though, we're heavily bonus based in the player contracts.

This maybe so, but I guarantee a hefty amount of the Champions League money we are rewarded with stays with the club. We may pay nice bonuses but the club will still be sitting on a very big amount based on what UEFA & TV rights give us etc

Wanna hear from the intelligent fellas who told me that not having CL wouldn’t affect our summer business

Not to argue with you, but I think those opinions were based on players coming to us to play in the Champions League and not the financial implications as JJ has eluded too.

Either way, CL is definitely a big part of how we do business, players want to play on the biggest stage of them all. Even if that's not the be all and end all of the reasoning for signing with us, it is still a huge factor.

Eriksen wants to leave....

I’m not to upset as long as we get a decent fee, we’ve had him for seven years and he could’ve probably left quite easily in some of those season but stuck with us, if Real Madrid is his dream move we shouldn’t stand in his way

I don't particularly mind losing these players- it's part and parcel of a club's transfer business. But what worries me is that I doubt we will replace them adequately. We've demonstrated that we are not competent at completing deals, and haven't been for some time. The likely lack of CL will also reduce our options. Expect another deeply frustrating summer, from which we will emerge with a weaker squad.

Quite excited about the prospect of us signing Sessegnon tbh. You'd think that if we really want him and the player has his heart set on us, regardless of boardroom differences, them getting relegated will severely handicap their negotiation stance.

I don't think Sessegnon has been given the proper environment to thrive in the PL. Fulham are an absolute shambles. I think Poch would work wonders on him, similar to how he turned Rose and Walker into the best full back pairing in Europe at one stage.

Now to get the fella from Palace too...

The fact there was uproar about Toby being rested, and the fact he's going for a pittance in the summer is really telling. Especially as it'll likely cost close to £50m to replace like for like and Sanchez/Foyth aren't ready to be top dogs yet.

Couple that with losing Eriksen for a reduced price too and this summer could be sketchy. Genuinely worrying when you think we need to replace both of those and Dembele to even stand still, let alone improve. Couple that with the fact at least 2 of our fullbacks need replacing too and we're looking at a real shitstorm.

We need someone who's gonna pull a few rabbits out of hats because otherwise we're in real danger of falling behind again.

Monchi and that fella who left arsenal would be a choice, but we can't keep leaving it for Poch to be stubborn, and Levy to scrimp on deals. The two together makes a horrible strategy
