He's 10 times the LWB that Davies is for sure. He'd get game time after a season in the prem and a solid pre season with us.

He's a winger more than a wingback for me, tbh they're completely different types of player and Davies is the better player defensively by a fair bit IMO.

I honestly don't think he's worth the kind of money they'd want at this point and sincerely doubt that we'd pay it anyway.

Sessegnon is not going to make it as a top level winger in my opinion. He just doesn’t possess the flair or skill level to be effective in that position for a bigger side.

However, he has the qualities to be moulded into a wing back. He obviously needs a lot of work defensively, but he has the physicality, movement, and intelligence to play that role.

I do agree that he’s not worth the money. I had these concerns when he was banging in the goals in the Championship, and was happy we didn’t spend £50m on him.

Re the youth v experienced heads discussion, I believe we need both at this point.

An experienced leader and winner in the middle of the park to play out the big games and the last 20mins in a tight game is needed IMO.

Then some youthful exuberance in the form of a B2B midfielder, wingback, wide attackers to bring that fearless aggressive unpredictability.

With the quality we already have, we'd be flying high.

JJ dropping bombs in the Toby thread!! Comments below:

There is a lot more to the Toby story than you guys will ever know which sounds inflammatory but put it this way, I dont expect him to be at the club next season and if he gets a new contract then i dont expect Poch to be there....

Personally we know that we need new full backs too and a CM maybe 2- Eriksen is replaceable as are the full backs.

with good players being worked on- in saying that we had an agreed deal for De Jong last summer only for his #***** agent to renege at the 11th hour! We had Pulisic at the training ground for 2 days in January only for Chelsea to do their usual on us on money.

or buy N'Dombele which we also thought we were close to last summer until Aulas went and slapped a 75M price on him

Loads being worked on as was the case last summer- but deals fell through for Wanyama N'Koudou, Dembele, Victor which affected our squad and spend- if you all knew who will be leaving this summer you would and wouldn't be surprised but as we sit here today i'm expecting big changes. Now if we don't secure Champs League it completely changes that so we have to have 2 options and cant be as proactive as we want.

At least it seems the club is aware players are needed.

Pochettino was at the OL vs Barca game. That can only mean we're buying Mendy, Ndombele, Depay, & Aouar...

There is a clause in his contract we can activate and its nowhere near the 50M and the boy is desperate to come to spurs however their chairman doesn't like ours so we are trying to get around that little roadhump....

How is it that agents get the final say? Surely if a player is all signed up for a move then it's ultimately up to them whether it happens or not?

Wanna hear from the intelligent fellas who told me that not having CL wouldn’t affect our summer business

Champions League revenue can make the club up to £100m per season, it absolutely alters how we approach our dealings no question. Does anyone think this kindness of income gets palmed off as nothing in the boardroom??

I think we’ve earned just under £50m already
