He has a nice move where he "Ronaldo chops' onto his right foot which often puts him into a dangerous area near or in the opposition's penalty area. But from there he runs out of technique or ideas and often nothing comes of it. He still can't really cross and his diving/jumping/cheating really annoys me.

He’s showing signs of the ‘I’m Billy Big Bollocks’ like Lennon, Kaboul and Adebayor did and look what happened to them.

Like you’ve said, he’s got little to no end product but this has always been masked over by his work ethic and ability to run up and down the pitch all game. He either no longer has the energy to do this or he’s reverted back to having a poor attitude/application. Rose ‘was’ great but he isn’t anymore. In addition to our central midfield our full backs also need a major overhaul.

Stats tell half a story. Alonso can be a real liability defensively. Really poor positionally and in anticipating threats. Don't think Digne is better than Rose. Robertson's the best LB imo. Don't see any other LB who is clearly defensively better than Rose in the PL.

Sure, it depends on formations etc. But stats are what we have to go on. The last season Rose could been have considered the best lb in the league was Walker's last season, imo.

Stats aren't just what we go on. They don't really consider positional sense of a defender, see Alonso, and chances/goals conceded due to that fact, which stats don't tally.

Nor do they consider how attacking play is often switched to avoid the flank of a strong defender. Rose made a howler yesterday. He ain't the defender he was a couple of seasons ago, I agree. He's still a good defensive LB however.

No we don't, because stats are meaningless without context.

I would even consider Davies to be a better defensive lb, but Rose a little better allround.

Rose will push his opposing winger back due to his pace and strength. Stats don't account for that. If both fit, I'd take Rose all day against the better teams.

Davies rarely picks anyone out. Always seems to pick out a defenders leg. Although Rose has played complacent almost arrogant the last few weeks hes still on another level than Davies

I agree he is on another level but he’s up and down like a yo-yo in that he’s either very good or pants. We can’t afford for players to have too many off games and as we’ve seen recently these mistakes have cost us games and left us in a real dog fight for top 4.

Tbh Danny seems to get it pretty easy from the majority of the fan base most of the time, his touch is pretty erratic, but he's quick and gets stuck in, plus he's been here for a long time now.

The whole wanting to leave/more money thing seems to have been swept to the back of people's memories too.

Next game's against Liverpool at Anfield. Who do you think Poch would choose assuming both are fit; Rose or Davies?

It could be anyone as he chops and changes his full backs all the time and as of late to the detriment of the team.

Why? Davies can cross, Rose can’t. Davies is the better defender.

None of our full backs can cross
well and/ or consistently
unless Jan plays at left back.
All pretty averagely poor
Trippier enjoyed a hyped up reputation
for about 15 minutes.

Trippier is right up there with Lucas Digne in crosses completed, they're the top 2 in the league and Tripps is actually slightly more accurate.

Like you
I only use statistics
when they back up
what I'm saying.

'accurate'; crossings completed'
What do these actually mean?
Resulting in a goal?
or went out for a throw in
on the other side.
or caught by the keeper.
