There was a massive Winks shaped hole in our side today, couldn’t get our passing game going at all so as a result couldn’t control the game.

Before Wanyama went off we looked like we were down to ten men (possibly nine with the way Eriksen played.) it was a massive mistake to start Wanyama.
While Winks could have made a difference, we've still had this problem when he's been there. The shape of the team is all wrong and I don't think just swapping players is going to make a huge difference

I agree, but it was massively exacerbated today.

Llorente on and offering a different threat isn't a problem, he won two or three good flick on's after all. But when you're hammering it forward wildly and he's competing for the ball 40-50 yards from goal rather than in and around the penalty area where something can happen with these second balls, then it's not going to achieve anything.

That bit of play after the equaliser I think shows up what we lack compared to some other teams. That should have been the point where with the momentum your mentality kicks in, even in the biggest games against the better opposition, you can play smart and focus, keep forcing the pressure and hammer on the door, and hopefully nick the winner. Instead we got wild, lost any momentum, and arguably worse than we had been in a struggle of a performance. At the critical moment we couldn't harness and channel what was needed.

After we equalised the ref killed the game by giving them absolutely everything.

Don’t know why he persists with 3 at the back. Leaves us short when we attack.

We are compensating for the availability of players I think - to play for example - any combination of unfit Wanyama, Sissoko and Eriksen, in a 4231, would leave us wide open - look how many chances we conceded with 3/5 at the back, also look back to when we played 4231 at the Library, we were overrun.

Different situation if Winks and Dier fit however!

Yes, we were shit. Yes, we got lucky. Yes, Arsenal will feel disappointed. But this wasn’t a great Arsenal performance either. It was organised but also very opportunistic. And definitely not accomplished

Piss easy to once again blame the ref. Yeah I was screaming at the TV as much as anyone, especially for the farcical Llorente foul/booking, but it doesn't change the fact we showed zero composure and smarts to our game. It was just whack it forward aimlessly, sloppy errors, and general chaos. After the equaliser I am actually not sure we tried/succeeded to patiently construct one attack - whether that be passing our way through or working the ball wide and getting a cross. Actually we did once, when the ball broke to Vertonghen in a good spot to put a cross in, apart from that......

really it's combination, we've been playing poorly but the refs have in large been making things much harder, best ref we had in recent times was v Dortmund not because he gave us any calls, just because he tried to have as little influence as possible on the outcome.

The last decent game we played was against Dortmund, therafter, we have been trying to scrape rthrough results. Today, was no exceptuion, We made too many mistakes, lost possesssion too easily, so, all in all we were lucky to get away with a draw. Poch's recent comments with the press does not help to motivate the players.

But it's not the ref who had any influence on all our back players just slamming the ball long any time we got it in those last 10-15 mins. He wasn't great but I'm not having that, we didn't try to build anything or capitalise on any momentum we got from the penalty/equaliser. It was our failings we should look at.

And by blowing for a free kick instead of playing on when Ericksen played Jan in down the left.

Worst ref performance I’ve seen in a long time. It was that bad, it actually made me want VAR.
