What’s the point of him on the bench if he can’t play a minute?
Maybe someone will actually buy him if we have him on the bench and given a squad number unlike Janssen. Other than that, IDK. He's useless now. Feel sorry for the guy as its out of his control but the unfortunate truth.

His situation is a bit strange. Ok, he had a big injury, but he’s only 27 (prime) and should be able to get back to a decent state again

Watching him try to chase down Ramsey made me realize he is nowhere near the player he was just a year and a half ago. So sad to see. In the past I think he most definitely makes up the ground on Ramsey there.

He actually made up about 10 yards on him.

he looked frail and could barely lift his knees up, players were running off him so easily it was scary. very sad to watch when you think back to the monster player he was a couple of seasons ago.

Since returning from injury:

2/2/19H (3.) Newcastle...................on the bench
2/10/19H (3.) Leicester...................came on for 10 mins
2/23/19A (3.) Burnley......................on the bench
2/27/19A (3.) Chelsea......................on the bench
3/2/19H (3.) Arsenal........................Played 59mins
3/9/19A (3.) Southampton............. on the bench
3/31/19A (3.) Liverpool....................on the bench
4/3/19H (3.) Crystal Palace..............came on for 1min
4/13/19H (4.) Huddersfield.............Played 90mins

Scored a lovely goal Saturday but other than that I thought he really struggled again and looked a shell of the fantastic player he was pre his knee injury

He must be training day to day and you'd think If he's on the bench then he is fit and able to play so that is a very worrying set of appearances since the beginning of February

do you have any stats to back up his 'struggles' such as yards covered, tackles, passes etc?

Yeah, him and Lamela seem busted. It was lovely to see him score on Saturday but it does seem he’s not the player he was. The next few games might tell us even more but, assuming he and Lamela can pass medicals, I wouldn’t be surprised to see either of them being sold to clubs in less physically demanding leagues

I don't recall him struggling Saturday. Plus it was his first 90 minutes in maybe a year?

Jesus wept folks, he really did

The fact winks has developed into the more deep laying role means we just don’t need him. We have winks Dier and Skipp who can play the deep role. What we need is another Sissoko that can break lines. Although kind of ironic wanyama has more PL goals than sissoko this season.

when wanyama is fit he seems like a more accomplished player to me than dier, skipp is not ready at all to be a regular. If Wanyama can stay fit then he should definitely be in the squad.

He looked sprightly in his cameo against city. Bit leggy vs huddersfield, but he needs matches to get post injury fears sorted. Cant write him off just yet.

Agree, and would love to see him fully fit but there was some ITK earlier in the season about him not even passing a medical. Hopefully this has been resolved because the old Victor was an absolute monster, and him and Sissoko in a 41212, with Victor at the base would be physically immense

He was fine against Huddersfield. Especially considering it was his first start in god knows how long. Let’s give him until the end of the season and, I would suggest, a full pre-season before we write him off.

Dembele & Wanyama of 16/17 were formidable.

I really wish Big Vic well and hope he's able to salvage his career, whether that's with us or with someone else.
