That Brom goal was bizarre. Never seen a goal scored by someone standing off the pitch...

yup. they played well though. admired the manager for changing the formation at half time. Not bad youth players, they'll come good in a couple of years.

FA Cup - 5th Round.
7.45 Loftus Road
.
QPR vs Watford.

Live on BT Sport.

I've had way too much excitement this week so I won't bother.

Only decent tie of the round and they put it on Monday night. None of the others are really worth watching.

It sounds like sour grapes - but the whole competition seems devalued now.
.
Eight games over days and the BBC only gets a Sunday and Monday gig.
.
All I hear is Arsenal won it 3 times in 4 years so it must be good. That really does piss me off and I'll hear it until the end of time.

It's probably a premier league perspective. I'm sure if you're a Newport or a Doncaster fan you love it. I remember back in 2011 Crawley Town got to the QF and only lost to a Wes Brown header at Old Trafford. Hit the bar in the dying minutes too. Best defeat I've experienced in person. 9,000 Crawley folk going up north. What an experience. In that same run Derby were beaten at the Broadfield, Robbie Savage included. Next season after that I believe Stoke came down, but not before going up to Hull and Matt Tubbs scoring his last goal in his last game for the club. Remember it now. He blocked me in the photo in the papers.

For the lower league sides the magic of the cup is still alive and as a neutral I will watch their games, wishing them to beat the big boys. Well unless they face Spurs at any point.

Hoping beyond hope that a smaller club can bring back the magic of the FA Cup for us all to enjoy.

Newport should be this year's side. They have beaten Leicester and Boro, now face City at home. Of course nobody believes they'll get anywhere, but that is the beauty of the cup. On any given day, you just don't know.

I remember back in the day going to a mates house to watch the final with his dad.

The terrestrial tv would dedicate most of the day to build up.

You'd see players arriving for breakfast, leaving hotels to catch team bus etc.

There really used to be a buzz about the day. I know i was nipper at the time, but i always recall the final as being a special day.

Quick question

So now that this round onwards doesnt entail replays and the games goes into extra time and possibly penalties, and with the TV blackout at 3pm on saturdays - WHAT HAPPENS if it goes to penalties which will most likely be at around 3pm

I want it to go to penalties just to see what happens

Might wait for city to score and then put some money on Newport just for the odds which will no doubt be insane!

Carnage in the penalty area. They could score. Good first half Newport. Showing Chelski how to defend against city.
