I know its a bit early but I am impatient to get this thread started but cannot wait on @thinktank!!

We reached the part of the season where a lot of people were expecting us to have a slump, in the absence of key playing personnel, But they were not aware of our new resilience under Poch, where we actually won every league game since Kane and Ali were injured and Son for parts was in away on International duty. Coupled with the fact that yesterday we thrashed the current Bundesliga leaders.

We now have over a week for the players to refresh and hopefully the injured like Kane Wanyama and Dele can return, to enable us to challenge both Liverpool and Man City, with the aim of finishing as high up the league as we can.

With that in mind, the team and the bench that I would like to see going forward is

Lloris

Aurier ______Toby ____ __Super Jan ______ Rose

Sissoko __________Winks

___Son ________ _Eriksen______Dele _______

Kane
Subs: Gazzaniga Trippier Davis Sanchez Wanyama Moura Lamela.

Who said our squad has no depth? Considering there was no space in my squad for Foythe Dier KWP and Llorente

Considering that you have one too many already, maybe one of Alli or Kane could come off the bench instead?

I would rather see both Kane and Dele off the bench before they start games tbh. Why take any more risk than is necessary? I know it's not a shoe in or anything but we are talking about Burnley not Man City.

Couldn't agree more.

Despite the extremely rare resting period between our last & next game, I genuinely do not see the point in instantly taking the risk of putting ourselves back into a situation where we're coping without our best players.

Sure, if they're needed, bring them off the bench. Until then, the longer they're 'rested' the more they'll recover from their injuries.

It's as though people have forgotten the insane amount of "we always rush Kane back too quickly & he takes ages to get his mojo back" posts, that have been on here each time we've lost him.

Baby steps!

If Kane is available (meaning his fitness is also A-1) then I'd start him

May as well get at least 65 to 70 minutes under his belt for match sharpness

Will set him up for the Chelsea game

If Dele isn’t ready, Skipp to replace him on the bench. Save Aurier and Dier for the London derbies.

You’re starting 12 ?. I doubt dele will be ready and rather save him for Chelsea maybe give 20 minutes. It’s quite tempting to stay with 3 at back but at least we have options.

If Kane and Dele are fit, I’d start one with a view to subbing him off for the other on the hour mark if we are winning:

Lloris
Aurier Alderweireld Vertonghen Rose
Winks
Sissoko Eriksen
Lucas ____________________ Son
Kane

Gazzaniga Trippier Sanchez Dier Lamela Dele Llorente
Fuck me our squad looks strong right now.

I can't see Kane or Dele starting after being out so long. Poch will ease them back in as he usually does with the Arsenal game in mind for them to start or possibly the game against Chelsea as he will also have to manage the fitness of Son and Eriksen after so many games

Let's play the same team as against Dortmund. We got a lot of rest before facing Burnley

My XI (assuming Kane will be back) : 4-2-3-1

Lloris
Aurier, Toby, Jan, Rose
Sissoko, Winks,
Eriksen, Kane, Son,
Llorente

The only reason to pick Llorente in the line up is , because this is against Burnley. Having him would help us defensively & offensively. Also, gives Kane time & space to grow into the game after long absence.

You don't move Kane out of position. If you want Kane and Llorente playing together then it'll have to be:

Lloris

Aurier, Toby, Jan, Rose

Winks
Eriksen, Sissoko
Son

Llorente, Kane

That's not how it works, we have a massive game against the Chavs to consider which is just 3 days later, so the team will be picked with that in mind for sure.

Its just semantics. Way our players play under Poch , we are always on the move. Players move in & out of their position with/without ball, yet stay in shape. All I suggested is , Kane to be more deeper, more involved on the ball, till he gets into his grove.

Cannot see Alli anywhere near this game. It will be five weeks since his injury. As he has had previous problems with this he might make the bench for Arsenal.
