Ozil's contract situation is worse.
Ozil's is awful but at least I can understand what they were thinking when they resigned him. He was one of the best playmakers in the league for years before he signed that extension (granted, with huge holes in his game). Ramsey is getting paid like one of the top midfielders in the world if the reported salary is correct. He won't even crack Juve's starting lineup even on the rare occasion when he's fit. It's beyond stupid what Juve did.

Never saw the day coming where I’d feel sorry for an Arsenal player. The comments aren’t even that vicious but he obviously takes shit to heart.

‘Sorry bro I’ll take that into consideration’ he replies to Dave, 16, who is currently studying home economics at a college in Dagenham.

‘Sorry bro, I’ll do better next time’ he replies to Susan, 24, who plays right back for The Kings Head mixed pub team in Canvey Island.

It’s sort of nice that he’s doing it to try and gel with the supporters but it’s a slippery social media slope. That said, if I find out he’s slagged Spurs off on social media then I take it all back and he’s a **** and I hope his confidence suffers an all time low and quits football.

Well, it could just as well be him giving sarcastic answers.

Ramsey's £400k is a signing on fee spread over four years plus his wage, that's the beauty of running down your contract, he earns a fortune Juventus get him and cheaper than if they had to pay a fee and Arsenal lose every which way but loose, a sweet deal.

That has to be one of the worst contracts I've ever seen in any sport. It's even worse than the 10 year $275M contract the Yankees handed a declining 33 year old Alex Rodriguez. At least he was an actual all time great at one point.

It’s not our money, who cares.

Correct but Eriksen might look at that and think phwoooaaarrr. He could happily play for us for another 18 months then go to one of the biggies for £300k/400k a week after. Juve haven’t really helped other clubs here.

I can't tbh, Ozil wasn't even close to justifying that wage before he signed, that said Ramsey is on mental money but I reckon hell do well there anyway.

A lot of players employ their friends/relatives to manage their social media accounts. Or of course if they are global stars they may well have a PR team that does that.

Not saying he does, but could well be someone else posting on his behalf.

After tax Ramsey is getting about 200k so I guess Juve had to give him that to compete. Still crazy money though, he's not even that good let alone the injuries.

I get that but what do they do this morning when they’ve got Dybala’s agent on the phone (for example). With him saying he wants parity for his player, or he’ll move him on to Spain or England in the summer.

It can’t be good for the dressing room. Fair enough if they were paying Ronaldo that but not Aaron bloody Ramsey.

Doubt it works that way.

In a world where an admittedly decent player in Ramsey gets a 400k a week contract, maybe my one legged nan should reconsider her career options. Gotta be better than a state pension

I think Gabrielle Marcotti recently debunked the £400k/pw theory - he reckons it's about £250k/pw gross. Don't know how accurate he is though, especially since the £400k is being widely reported.
