Look I’m not a football scout and I don’t watch any non premier league games so I won’t be able to come up with 10/15 names but to think we couldn’t attract a keeper to perform better than Lloris has for the last few years is not correct imo.
We have consistently been the 3/4 best team in the league for the last few years, is Lloris the 3/4 best keeper in the league?
Bull shit

You should be able to come up with at least 5 IMO, that not a football scout thing is a complete cop out.

Let’s himself down? Maybe off the pitch he did, but not on it.

It is actually ridiculous how consistent he has been over the years. Yes he has made mistakes, every keeper does, but they have been pretty rare.

Baffles me the criticism he gets. To hear you think he ‘lets himself down’ actually made me lol.
Why would you laugh at a different perspective and what's so baffling?. Lloris has made some questionable errors that has directly cost goals...are you saying that he doesn't?

He is clearly our number one. I am happy that he is our number one. He's positivities outweigh the negatives.

The phrase ‘let’s himself down’ implies he has made mistakes due to lack of effort or focus. He is our captain and it doesn’t sit right with me that a ‘fan’ thinks this of him.

You could level criticism at our players within reason, but I take particular issue with claims they let themselves down, bottle it, or possess a lack necessary mentality.

This crop of players are special to me because of their commitment, passion and never-day-die attitudes.

I grew up watching our players in the 90s being the total opposite of this, and I just feel lucky to watch these guys play for our club - win or lose.

Don't get so defensive.

I think every rightful Spurs fan is proud of our current team manager chairman youth players ground etc etc

Defensive? Not at all.

I don’t like the phrasing of ‘let himself down’. If you can’t accept my opinion, that’s your own issue. :)

As I said I don’t really watch anything but English football so I wouldn’t know the top keepers aboard.
Scmicheal heaton foster has all been better than Hugo this season imo. Not to mention the keepers out of our league Allison,de gea ,Edison

No they haven't at all lol and De Gea has been the only goalie clearly better than him because he's arguably the best in the world.

Sorry but you don't need to be a scout to reel off names, football is a global game now and there's enough knowledge out there nowadays to conclude your own research, we get this all the time when people are questioned what players we could bring in who can realistically improve us they say I'm not a football scout, sorry it's a cop out. the truth is that if you can't think of anyone then you either don't have any conviction in your argument or you there isn't actually anyone out there who could support your argument.

Lloris is one of the best keepers in the league, top 3 consistently and there is only 1 keeper who is clearly better than him in this league and that's De Gea.

Gazzaniga has some of the best distribution out of the GKs in the PL. Find this so important as he actually create chances with his great kicking, its like an extra player on the field. On the other hand, Lloris' poor distribution increases our vulnerability to concede.

Overall though it has to be Lloris purely for his ability to make world class saves most GKs can't.

Yeah, by this half-arsed logic we should go out and buy Bravo from city...

In fact, why bother getting a keeper at all, just buy a deep-lying playmaker and give him the gloves... we dont really even need a keeper, do we? As long as they can kick a few long passes then we're sorted....

The double standards on this forum are insane. Are the golden boys Winks & Sissoko top 3/4 CMs in the league? Everyone says they can do no wrong. Eriksen & Lloris get ridiculous amounts of shit for how good they are compared to the rest of the squad. Lloris is absolutely a top 4 keeper in the league. De Gea, Allison, Ederson, Lloris are the best.

As much as would like to sit around and watch football all day I don’t have that much time to scout goalkeepers.
I don’t need to give you or anyone else a list of keepers better than Lloris all I’m saying is Lloris has not performed consistently good enough for the last 2 years imo

I agree with most of this, but I don't see how:

a. De Gea is the best GK in the world (what about Manuel Neuer and ter Stegen?).
b. De Gea is clearly better than Lloris (he might be better in all honesty, but personally I don't see anything clear about it).
