I don't think he's regressed as a player at all, and you've provided all the valid reasons about this season already in your post. I'd also add that the whole team hasn't been as good performance wise. We've just been much better at grinding out results.

The only thing that concerns me about Eriksen is him leaving.
i think when eriksen does not perform well, the whole team does not perform well. it shows how important he is to the team...

If we are to stand any chance of winning the league we need him at full tilt. We need his special free kicks and through balls to son ect. Run the damn game like we know u can christian!

P.s. leave the soggy corner kicks at home though!

His form will be a double-edged sword. If he continues his current form, the big two may not come for him and we may keep him beyond next season. If he suddenly returns to his glorious best, we may stand a reasonably good chance of progressing in the CL and EPL; and that might increase the chance of him leaving next season.

I really don't know what I want. Perhaps a last hurrah for him with us in winning at least one title.

Pretty good indication of how far Eriksen has fallen this year. Not in the top 13 players for chances created from open play this season. I'm pretty sure he topped it last year.

Whether it's the change in formation, regular change to the personnel around him due to injuries, fatigue from the WC, the distraction of contract negotiations, or more likely a combination of all three that's caused it, it's concerning.

I wouldn't necessarily say he's had a poor season, although by his lofty standards that could certainly be argued, but he's regressed a lot.

He’s had injury problems yet has 8 league assists, Hazard tops the table with10.

He's always drifted in and out of form for me. Thing is he's still productive even when not at his best. The Spanish giants will be well aware of this imo.

That's the thing...say he moves to RM or Barca and starts off in one of his dips..they are not going to wait around for him to hit his peaks. He'll be tossed aside quickly.

Coutinho has been average this season and yet Barca still persist with him.

but the fans and media are a different story - look at the grief Isco has got. Even Bale, despite his key goals, has got serious grief from the fans and media....in some respects it is because he was so clearly seen as a Perez man that he is there.

Coutinho has been under a lot of pressure.

CE MAY go but I think it is far from certain that he will succeed if he does so

Don't really see which european club would be in for him other than Real Madrid and there are quite a few positions they could do with strengthening. If they go in for Hazard and a top number 9 then they might not have the funds for Eriksen. Probably our best hope, could be a worry if he fancied moving to united, that'd be the worst case scenario imo.

RM will spend big this summer. Also they will sell, Isco will 100% leave, so will Kovacic. Those two alone will cover the cost of Eriksen given his contract situation. The only way I maybe see him staying is if we win the league. But we won't. And even then he would probably still feel like it was time to move on. I really don't see a single scenario in which he stays.

Always thought he was overhyped, great player but not to the standards people make him out to be.

Not consistent enough, he will have a exceptional game when the opponent gives him space but struggle when teams press. He has given away the ball so often lately also his delivery from free kicks/corners have been shocking, never beating the first man... Oh and he hasn't scored from a free kick for us in years.

People will disagree but he reminds me of Ozil.

I can never comprehend how such a class and fine striker of the ball can be so average at dead ball situations

One of the hardest working players in the league, versus one of the laziest. I can see the similarity.

Embarrassing comparison quite frankly.

Football fans can be so dumb sometimes, when you have a player who drops under their level suddenly he's average, funny stuff.

Some opinions are fine. This is not.

How on gods earth does he remind you of Ozil?

By all accounts, Real's top targets are Hazard, Mbappe and Neymar, and they have been for some time.

That said, Hazard and Eriksen would be around the £100m mark, so perhaps Real would prefer those two as opposed to one Neymar or Mbappe, who would cost considerably more?

That's true, at least in regards to rumours. But it's worth noting that Vinicious has been exceptional this season and they won't want to hinder his development. They also have Rodrygo coming in, so they really, really don't need another right footed LWF, assuming they buy Hazard.
