Its a combo of things probably. Arsenal playing billy big boots paying top 4 wages when not in CL to attract players like boomerang. Kroenke wanting to run a profit on a year by year basis, so no deep dipping one year compared to another. Shrinkage of the arsenal fanbase as the plastic fans leave. Revenue dropping by 20%. Sponsorships arnt as big financially. Being a financially responsible club has chopped off their excesses at the knees. Did i mention no champions league? :D
Players like Carl Jenkinson are on £60k a week. Wenger's egalitarian wage structure has completely fucked them. Poor players on big wages who they can't shift and no CL to compensate is an awful combination.

Their stadium was built 12 years ago, by now they ought to be rolling in cash. If we're only going to be allowed to spend £45m in the summer of 2030 then there's going to be massive problems.

Our stadium will bring in much more than theirs with NFL and 16 non football. Also our money from concessions and hospitality will be way more. And right now we don’t really need to spend much. They need a whole new defence just to start with.

Pep has stated at his press conference that the title race isn't restricted to just the top two or three.

"There are 39 points to play and it is not too much if you are nine or 10 behind," said Guardiola. "I never said Tottenham are not there. United making this run every single week and they will be there. Now we see the table and see the first two or three and we don't look further than that. Chelsea can win games in a row and be a contender."

And?

Anyone else?

Well, that was it, actually, the troll. :joyful:

As Ronan Keating once sang 'You say it best, when you say nothing at all'.

400k a week? Jesus titty fucking christ what is wrong with football? This is not sustainable in anyway, the well is not bottomless. Is there some financial (alleged) funny business going on with Juventus (like Man city?).

Fuck, we may as well give up if Aaron fucking Ramsay is worth £400k a week. Maybe it's to cover the private health cover he'll need every other week?!

Think we'll be seeing more of this in the future with the astronomical fees around.

Maybe it's a pay as you play contract, so 400k would work out at 100k in reality considering how often he gets injured... :D

I wouldn’t blame them if they see him getting paid that much. Do Juventus even need to pay him that much to get him.
This is the baffling thing.
Is ANYBODY gonna pay even half that to get him?
So why the fk would you offer that?
Doesnt make sense.
Smells bit off actually.

That has to be one of the worst contracts I've ever seen in any sport. It's even worse than the 10 year $275M contract the Yankees handed a declining 33 year old Alex Rodriguez. At least he was an actual all time great at one point.

Ozil's contract situation is worse.
