Maybe I'm overconfident in us, but I'm looking at it as both United and Arsenal have to win 4 games more than we do and personally I can't see that considering the games United and Arsenal have left, I think we should be looking up rather than down now, I know that people still hold fear from days gone by but I think this current group has proven themselves enough for me to believe that we don't have to worry about our form falling off of a cliff.
Especially since Arsenal have to come to us and the story the last couple of years has been that we completely fail to turn up at theirs early season and then absolutely school them in the reverse fixture near the end.

Gaps of pts can dissapear very very fast in the pl. Right now im not even certain we will finish above united and stay in the top 4 just as much as i think we are in a pl title race.
I think United will be far behind us when March is over, considering they have Arsenal, Liverpool and City. Palace away is also a game they could very well lose points.

They have been very lucky so far, that luck can't continue forever. Leicester was robbed today.

We've still got to play City, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal this season. Not guaranteed points from any of those.

I don't think i've ever had 2 posts where it was all disagree to then all agree haha but I can perfectly understand why people disagreed with my initial post, I personally feel that the Fulham and Watford games were so stressful for the players and you could feel the pressure shackling the way we played and I'm hopeful considering the circumstances we find ourselves in that maybe the shackles are off a little bit and we can enjoy our football and hopefully produce the results to go with it.

Conversely I'm not sure if anybody watched Liverpools games vs Palace and Leicester but the pressure is palpable, I think they are feeling the weight of their fans expectations and I'd go as far to suggest that they'll probably play better in their remaining away games.

So if we lost all those games but won the rest, then Arsenal and United would have to win all their remaining games to go above us. I personally don't see that happening.

We shouldn't get carried away.
Yes it looks good with 10 point gap but we have to go to City, Liverpool and Chelsea still, could quite comfortable drop 9 points here!
I am optimistic but lets not get too excited yet.
Arsenal have favourable fixtures too with only us away and utd at home left for them of any note
we have to keep winning the winnable games.

Of course, but most of those games are away - we are almost unbeatable away, and we are have a stronger team than United. Thus, our chance of getting points out of those games are higher than United's.

Hell, we could lose 3 of those games, and United would need to win three and draw one of them to pass us.

As others have said 9/10 points can be made up very quickly in the PL. We’re in a fantastic position considering the injuries and the ongoing saga of the new stadium, but there’s a long way to go yet.

Classic SC, 9/10 points is easy to make up if it's our rivals behind catching us but 4-7 to Liverpool above us is just way too far. Do you all eat pessimism for breakfast?

We still have to ride this current period out without Kane and Ali though.

Of the 25 games that we have played so far, we have won 19.

Of our remaining 13 games -

- if we win at least 10, arsenal cannot overtake us. We would need even less wins if arsenal drop more points down the line.

- if we win at least 10, United will, at best, be only level on points. We would again need less wins if they drop more points.

- if we win at least 11, Chelsea cannot overtake us and again we would need to win less games if Chelsea drop more points in their remaining matches.

Arsenal still have to play United (H) and us (A). They also have to play Wolves (A) - not an easy game.

United have still to play Chelsea (H), Liverpool (H), City (H) and Arsenal (A). In addition, they also have to play Wolves (A)

Chelsea have to play us (H), Liverpool (A), City (A) and United (A). They also have Wolves (H)

Those 3 will drop more points as the season progresses which would allow us to win less than 10 of our remaining games to secure top 4 this season.

We need to win as many games but all is not lost (for CL next season) as we can afford to lose a few of our remaining games. And yes - we can afford to lose our away games against City, Pool & Chelsea and still secure top four (if we maximise wins in our other remaining games).

If we want to win the title, we have to hope that Liverpool drop more points. City are just a win away from us overtaking them. If Pool loses tomorrow and City beats Everton on Wednesday , City go top (albeit after playing a game more). This will put a lot of pressure on pool and they may (hopefully) buckle further.

For me, I think our top priority is securing a top four place and if things go bad for pool & City, then hopefully, we should be close enough to try and challenge them for the title.

I may be wrong but I think we have pretty much won nearly all our games when Harry has been out

True. We need to get 6pts from the next 2 games; Leicester (H) and Burnley (A).

In that time...

Utd have Fulham (A), Liverpool (H)
Arsenal have Huddersfield (A), Southampton (H)
Chelsea have Man City (A)

So Utd and Chelsea have very good chances of dropping points, which would tee us up nicely for the 4 tough games (City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal) that we have.

I suppose it's not rocket science; just focus on the next game!

Quietly confident though.

Will be close but, 7 more wins and then Arsenal and Utd would realistically have to win at least 11 of their remaining 13 games to finish above us. That they play each other helps in this regard.

We have home games against LCFC, Palace, Arsenal, Brighton, Huddersfield, Everton, WHU and away fixtures of Burnley, CFC, Liverpool, Bournemouth, City and Soton

No guarantees in that run but I would be shocked if we couldn't pick up 21-24 points from that.

77 will probably be the magic number for top4!

Yeah I’m quite confident too. Just worth bearing mind though Kane and Ali may not both be ready to go immediately at the start of March.
