I was at the game... Bloody 2 hours to get home!

Felt that after failing to capitalise on the dominance of the opening 20 minutes, we got too comfortable and lost some urgency and concentration. Newcastle had been uninterested up until that point, but one mistake and they could sniff an opportunity.

Delighted and relieved with the win, but we should be thumping teams like that. We had them torn to shreds and should have done much better. Nando should have started and Rose and trippier either side of a back 3 would have given us far more potency from the flanks. Jan is a fair full back but he has a centre backs touch.

Must be more ruthless in my opinion.

Just got home, anyone see the official attendance? Great result today. 3 games with winners in the 80th minute onwards more than makes up from the Utd game we should have got a point from . ( should have won but would have loved a draw in the end )
We can win the league, not impossible . Win the next 2 games and who knows.

Decent performance from the lads today, if Dele or Kane had been fit then I think the winning margin would have been greater.

Poor from Benitez and Newcastle, who were clearly set up to get a point, even though we were two key players missing.

We'll draw next week, IMO. Leicester is shit against poor teams but they are very good against good teams. Hell they might even beat us.

Yet we comfortably beat them at theirs. They will be a bit more dangerous on the counter attack but we should get more opportunities than we did today. They won't be quite as defensive.

At the risk of going a bit Monty Python - 2 hours! I'm lucky if I'm home in 4 from Wembley!

For new members who wouldn't know better.........Just to put this into context, here's todays insights from our resident pessimist

This will be the draw, lads.
Im not sure I see us scoring
Just not going to score today
Then
SONNY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
:D

So, while I think Leicester is going to be a tough game and it totally wouldn't surprise me if we dropped points or got beat, I'm not sure pessimistspurs should be claiming any credit for any sort of insight or expertise in his predictions, he makes the same ones every week :D

I'd be worried about Leicester had it been today or Wednesday, but with a week off I think it's going to be slightly easier hopefully.

For those who think we had few chances, the expected goals today was 2.8 to Newcastles 0.5. To put that into perspective, Chelsea won 5-0 with a lower xG (2.3)

I don't know what's funnier, you not realising you're being xenophobic in anyway, or the fact it got you so riled up while at the game you decide to moan about it on the interwebs and moan about others not being there. Fair play though, you got a decent enough signal to do so..

Please never go to another one of our games though. I would rather have no fans, than people like you. You tell the Koreans to f off, yet it is our own South Korean player that is drumming up the interest and actually scored today's winner.

Go look in the mirror and have a word with yourself.
I suppose there is no point in trying to convince that particular poster to purchase a Kia sportage with a 7 year warranty or shall I.:sneaky::happy:

At the start of the thread I posted this:-
Come on guys, what are the odds Newcastle will beat Man City and Spurs in the same week?
We got this.
I'm not looking for kudos I just honestly believed it and strangely enough I honestly felt we were going to get the result all game, Newcastle were playing out of their skin in defence but I just felt it couldn't last and as the game went on it started getting a bit more desperate and sure enough it broke.
Good move to bring on Rose and Llorente, it added a whole lot more dynamism down that flank and Nando gave us a target and I thought he played that role really well once he got going.
Walked out of Wembley smiling like a cheshire cat into blue skies and sunshine, a perfect afternoon.:)

Took me over two hours to drive back to Bournemouth - The sun was so bright and low in the sky.

Jan had a really good game and put in some great crosses. Between him and Davinson for MOTM for me.[/QUOTE]

Are any off you at that game that neg Ed me?

Actually yes, and no I’m not Korean and have only just got home myself.
Yes Wembley is shit, but at least the Korean supporters chear every time Son gets the ball ans show some enthusiasm and support for the team unlike some of our moaning Anglo Saxon support.
