People are just using his comments to fuel whatever narrative they have in their head, all Poch has to mention is a word like 'dissapointed' you automatically think that he has some issue with Levy/the board and Poch is looking for a way out. If you listen to what he says constantly in his interviews and in particular this one he is speaking about you, calm the fuck down and take a step back for a minute and look at what he and the club are doing, the man literally sat there and poured his heart out to the media about our club for a good 20 mins earlier this week in a passionate rant to the media, he wouldn't be doing that if he didn't give a shit and is looking for a way out.

Just chill the hell out.

Exactly, you can be disappointed with a situation without having someone to blame.

The info we get suggests Poch loves training and working closely with the players. It seems he only wants top targets.

So if we don’t get a top target it doesn’t necessarily mean Levy didn’t put up the money.

No top team bought this January.

Poch clearly wanted to strengthen the squad. You can’t help but think yet again Levy has failed to deliver for him.

I guess we will find out in the summer whether or not Poch is pissed off. And if he is pissed off, how pissed off he is. He said he wanted to sign players but we couldn’t.

Ah well. I dunno. Poch seems to say all the right things publicly but I’d love to know what he thinks privately. I genuinely do feel Levy is unable to take us up a level and deliver what Poch needs.

Huge summer coming up for the board and Levy because he certainly is not being backed over the last 12 months.
Have you thought that yes Poch did want to strengthen the squad but only with players of top quality and they just weren’t available in January?

My take from that is that Poch is trying to tell, well, literally everybody, to stop treating everything as some crisis constantly.

We're always looking to improve, only want real quality, there wasn't a deal that was right, he seems content with that, he's getting on with working with his squad. With that he'd like to win trophies, he'd like to win every game, that of course doesn't happen. He isn't dwelling on it, he's getting on with the job.

It's a message to the media, it's a message to the fans, more than a message to the chairman I take it as. He just wants to get on with his job of coaching the team and to stop having to talk about a load of crap every press conference as to whether the apocalypse is nigh.

I think this is spot on. Look at recent pressers.

- It's clear by now what the short and long term goals at the club are. PL/CL Priority. Short term top 4/R16, long term to be regular contenders for both.

- It's clear that the club is operating under financial constraints, but expects the new stadium to improve things in the future.

- He believes in this project, and wants to succeed in this way. He wants us to improve on all fronts sure, but he said he didn't want a bottomless chequebook like Chelsea either.

- He wants to win, wants to improve the squad, but is happy to continue along the path set out as it's not a short term project. He'd have loved a quality addition or two, but would rather save cash than a short term buy.

- He simply wants recognition for the job him and the players are doing, as they are delivering on what the club needs right now.

I can understand with everything going on why criticism, especially from the media, feels harsh and grates on him.

He is frustrated by all of the complications, I'm certain of that, I'm sure he's disappointed in the last two windows, but it hardly means he's jacking it all in either.

Like you say, I think he's got tired of everyone (media/fans) sensationalising everything and failing to understand the above to suit their agenda, even though he keeps repeating himself.

I've got faith in him, that's all he asks of us.

I listened to that piece by Poch and I wonder how people can hear something completely different to me! He said he wants to touch Glory and that's good enough for me.
Personally I think he wants what I want, to touch glory, to win and to improve the team, if we can do that by buying a player great but we won't do that by buying the wrong player and until we can find and get the player then it's not a crisis.
I touched Glory recently.

My case comes up next week...

Don’t be silly if we ever don’t buy a player it is because Levy wouldn’t pay that extra million, no other reason.

I dunno. Poch is swinging this way and that in press conferences sometimes. A few days ago he was saying we'd need to be "careful" when signing anyone because of the non-HG squad issue, and then today he's saying he's disappointed.

Were there any home grown players available in January that would have made a real difference to the squad? Anyone decent in the PL would have cost huge money.

Read it in context alongside the rest of his quotes.

I'm reading that as he is disappointed that we didn't sign anyone this window, not that he's disappointed at the board or the fact that they couldn't get deals over the line. He is just talking about the reality of the situation, everyone wanted players to come in but they were either too expensive or just not good enough. Also he mentioned that we are looking at someone the other day but the deal more or less fell through (probably Rabiot) and expressed his disappointment about that the other day, he could have been alluding to that too.

Truth is that neither Liverpool or Manchester City strengthened this window and it might come back to bite them.
Just sayin'.

Can I ask why some on here think Levy wouldnt want to spend and/or refuses to spend? I mean in all honesty I find it difficult to fathom that there are no players out there who could improve us.

The question is - is it Levy or Poch and is it because we have no money and what is in it for Levy not to spend? The repercussions of Levy not spending is fairly huge particularly in light of a new stadium and how that shit hit the fan.
It’s pretty obvious he only built the stadium because he is a fromage and craft beer connoisseur

I think a lot of expectations were tempered when our board showed no ambition to help the squad over the summer despite knowing we’d have lots of knackered players.

Poch and the team started a little slow then we kicked into gear really well and we all got excited again and jumped on the hype train. Only to come back down with a bump once reality hits.

The board shows no ambition, close to a £1B stadium which the vast majority of fans backed. Our spending of course is going to be curtailed only a fool would think it’s not, do you have any idea how much the £800M is?

Its down to interpretation again, Poch saying he is disappointed.......at what....Not BEING GIVEN the players he wanted or disappointed .......Because players didn't want to come to us/or cost to much!
