The custodian of the club Mr Daniel Levy asset stripping the club :), I hope it isn't the case but sadly think it is where we are with ENIC.
Sorry, but improving infrastructure is the very antithesis of asset-stripping. Yes, ENIC will have used the TV money mostly to do it, but that's just called being a business man. Whatever happens in the future in terms of ownership, having a world-class stadium and training centre will leave us in a stronger place than when ENIC first bought the club.

Some of the opinions in this thread beggar belief. How dare that prick Levy build a world class training centre and stadium??!! It must all be part of his evil master plan to improve the club and rob from the fans by making it more valuable. I mean, having the best stadium in the country no way benefits us as fans, it's just Levy being a moneygrubbing bastard as usual.

These anti Levy /Enic people should stop reading the Gooner Harry Hotspur site because that site is nothing but hate and bile aimed at Tottenham Hotspur.Where we were pre Enic and now is so great that only a fool or Harry Hotspur reader or very young and have no concept of what the club was in the 90s.
This feeling of entitlement to win something is getting on my tits if you have the patience I am sure that Poch with the new stadium revenue will deliver.
All this pushing for "we must win a cup or Poch will leave and Kane etc will leave" is just feeding the anti spurs media agenda and they are playing into the anti spurs peoples hands.
What would piss off the anti spurs mob most would be if the spurs fans were to stand together and say we don't need to win a cup or two but in the near future we will win a cup or two.

Mentioning the sale was relevant in the context if there not being a next phase to their ownership where they increase funding for the playing squad. If they sell at anywhere close to their asking price we have a massive problem because nobody pays those kind of sums without expecting a serious return and that only comes from taking cashflow out from the club.

If this transpires then ENIC will have asset stripped the club. Using over 10 years of operating cashflow that could have been spent on the pitch to build property assets which they can then sell.

This might be the biggest load of shit I've ever read on this site. I'm not even going to dignify it with a thought out response, that only draws ire and sarcasm, I'm just going to call it what it is... a bit steaming pile of festering manure, ridden with lice and syphilis.

Yeah it's ridiculous. In this era of clubs funded by sheiks and oil barons, we're the only club that has ever managed to go from being a mid-table club to a consistent contender.

15 years ago we were on the same tier as Everton, Villa, etc. and since then we've managed to gatecrash the top table and stay there. Through a combination of shrewd deals, long term planning and investment in the club (oh, and one H Kane) we've built something that no other club has been able to do.

That alone is a borderline miracle, yet a lot of the press and the pundits still act like we're underperforming. Of course it's frustrating that we're not investing a bit more in players and we keep losing in semi finals, but when you take a step back and look at how far we've come and what we've got to look forward to...it's staggering.

I was crap at English at school so no point trying to teach me now, though I was crap with money (addicted gambler, I was very good with figures)(y) and live in a world that knows 2+2= 7:cautious:

I am also good with figures that have curves.

Disappointed you didn't quote Holly from Red Dwarf - "A load of Tottenham that is, a steaming pile of Hotspur!"

He’s just given a very passionate response to what he says are media misquoting him about not wanting to win domestic trophies. 3 or 4 minutes uninterrupted.

Part of me thinks GO ON POCH but part of me think he’s done this a few times lately and is it getting to him? Either way, I fucking love this man and if he thinks what was on offer in January wasn’t good enough at the prices quoted, then I’m happy to wait.

Don't suppose anyone caught much of his presser today?

Normally I follow the write up from Ally Gold on his 'every word .... ' thing but I don't think he is there today. Would have been interested to hear what questions were posed outside of the injury report and what his responses were like.

Poch clearly wanted to strengthen the squad. You can’t help but think yet again Levy has failed to deliver for him.

I guess we will find out in the summer whether or not Poch is pissed off. And if he is pissed off, how pissed off he is. He said he wanted to sign players but we couldn’t.

Ah well. I dunno. Poch seems to say all the right things publicly but I’d love to know what he thinks privately. I genuinely do feel Levy is unable to take us up a level and deliver what Poch needs.

Huge summer coming up for the board and Levy because he certainly is not being backed over the last 12 months.

Interesting stuff, think the long answer about his happiness about not bringing a player is a nod as much as anything to the fans.

It's probably been said thousands of times on here many different ways but I hope moving into the new stadium with him at the helm next season we achieve something, he has brought us so far.

Fingers crossed.

Here’s the whole video

From 15 minutes he starts rightly laying into the press for twisting his words in their reports and articles. Love it that he confronts them.

“I am disappointed because we are in a good position and with more help from some players we can not use the excuse we aren’t a real contender. We will dream we will fight until the end to be as high as we can.”

A telling quote. As I keep saying, if we could only have invested in some more quality last summer or last month, we could have had a real go for the PL.

The key thing is whether Poch is on board with the reasons why we couldn’t add the quality. If it’s because Levy keeps telling Poch we can’t afford him, too expensive etc I do worry about him going to United in the summer.
