Question on Twitter to: @jetsetyid not strengthening the squad or improving on certain weak areas can’t have been the plan going into the last two windows can it?

Answer:
@jetsetyid No but also wide spread changing of team wasn’t in the plan either

If we could have lost a few and brought in the right players to replace we would have but Committee not going to panic buy.

This summer and 19/20 season was always the plan for new players for many reasons.
Maybe the stadium was always going to take 2 years and the plan was always to take our money to reduce loan payments

I think after the cup exits and us scrambling 6 points from Fulham and Watford, the need to sign has lessened.

Rabiot was the big one but obviously couldn't convince him.

Will be interesting to see how Tielemans and Malcom get on. Both feel like they could have been possible loan options.

I'd love to see the list of players Poch supposedly turned down.

Club needs to do some serious work in the summer however. This season feels like a year in stasis along with the stadium delays. Just wish Eriksen leaving wasn't so likely...

I hope our transfer committee don’t get paid commission. Weren’t even able to shift any of the deadwood on perm deals. Another pathetic window, more excuses. Wouldn’t surprise me if it do little in summer.

Anyone know what the point of a transfer committee is?
Poch, Levy, Hitchens and McDermott make it up ... Guess you can shout at all four of them in equal measure. (or not)

Next task - get into new stadium. Get rid of Wembley expense. Sign new players in Summer. Fun times ahead.

@jetsetyid This summer and 19/20 season was always the plan for new players for many reasons.

Would it be a stretch to say that Levy knew well in advance that the stadium wouldn’t be ready for this season, so didn’t want to shake up the squad in what would be a turbulent season at Wembley...Summer 2019 was always the plan because we’d definitely be in and settled at NWHL?

Just makes no sense. So looks like another very unsettled start to the next season.

Yeah and Rabiot was a logical purchase, didn't happen but then people start talking about Tielemans, I mean is he the quality we need in the 2 remaining competitions? I personally felt it would be a bit of a panic buy as he's more about potential, plus it was a Loan so we are developing him for no reason instead of Winks and Skipp. We need to be pragmatic and make decisions which benefit us in the long term. Which feels weird to say as we are doing incredible in the prem.
Spot on! If we're buying a new CM it has to be a genuine top player. Obviously the issue is we won't pay what's required.

Going forward and if we're having a shuffle we should be looking at Brooks, Aarons, Clarke, etc. Make that HG concern a thing of the past.

Anyway enough of being pragmatic, back to talking bollocks, who do you think has the easier job, the reporter at sky sent to us the last two windows or our scouting team?

Of course. Quite obvious now isn't it?

Unless you used to write Sid the Sexist for Viz in the late 80s I don't think you can take credit for it either
I heard you say that the other day, and I thought "Oh, he used one of my catchphrases".

I don't mind influencing a young comedian (you're not a comedian) but I usually credit someone if I use their comedy.

There is some probable truth to the medium to long term view, but even for me it's all a bit too convenient.

Still, if we get at least one more season under the guidance of Poch in the new stadium with players he wants (bring on the optimistic ratings) then I'll say fuck it, count me in.

Well my opinion is we need to do a bit of a chelsea (just swallowed my own vomit) and scoop up a few of these young players and then loan them out, they will either kick on (as an example brooks) and we can bring them back or we can sell them for a profit, pretty much like Liverpool did with Solanke.

Don’t think it’s solely down to money

As much as we might not like it, I think that a large part of it is that the players we now want\need don’t see us as an attractive choice.
Yes because others pay bigger wages. Unfortunate but it’s a fact plus bigger backhander for the agent

I can't figure out whether strengthening the squad in the summer will be helped or hindered by finishing top 4.

I wonder whether lack of top 4 would be a wake up call and push the agenda.

Conversely finishing top 4 with the squad we have means strengthening may take us to the next level.

Can’t wait to bring a few new faces in during the summer window and for them to get a full pre-season with us.

My concern with our summer business was the possible mass exodus, if we manage to keep Poch another season I'll be overjoyed, Eriksen situation goes beyond our summer business imo, unsure on Alder but if we can keep the core of our team, it will be like we are getting a do-over
