I bet we weren’t even in for him Sky keep linking clubs with players even when the linked clubs have called sky to say they aren’t interested. It was revealed Jim White sits on info to keep the show going.

If Janssen is still at the club he needs to be involved with the first team. Not fair to the player sticking him in the u23 and he might be able to contribute.

From a realistic point of view the most disappointing thing about this window is only managing to shift Dembele on a permanent deal. And even then, he was one of the lower priority outs considering he could still have been some use to the squad.

We're going to be plagued with Janssen and Nkoudou again come the summer. Llorente and Vorm will go at least, but no chance we are shifting one of the right backs, Wanyama, VJ and GKN.

The money raised will come from Eriksen and Toby and even then you have to question whether we are competent enough to sign good players. I wouldn't be so sure we'll sign a single player.

I'm praying somehow that we can scrape through the Champions League tie against Dortmund. It will be the only thing I could get excited about this season if most of the squad is back fit and we get a juicy tie in the quarters. Otherwise I just want the season to be over and would absolutely take 4th place right now playing at a shitty temporary home that is becoming stale, depressing and uninspiring.

It’s obviously not all doom and gloom, as somehow we are in 3rd and we have a very good 1st 11 and manager. But its not a perfect 11 by any means, with major weaknesses at full back and CM as well as poor back up for certain positions. We have also been dumped out of both ‘winnable’ trophies purely, in my opinion, because of squad depth.

I’m not sure how anyone can be happy that we have gone two transfer windows without strengthening our squad when we are very close to something special and others around us have invested and improved (Liverpool) and overtaken us.

I think it is negligent and unambitious, there is obviously a way of staying true to your loyal players, bringing youth through and supplementing them with quality signings.

All in all I’m very disappointed.

But we have a squad and manager that deserve our support even if they haven’t had it in the form of squad strengthening. So what’s done is done I guess, and we need to get behind them (even Trippier) and drive them on until the end of the season. When we have another chance to make some signings. I mean, we won’t. But there’s still another chance.
I wasn't too fussed with this window if I'm honest. You're never going to get your primary targets in this window.

Last summer was a joke though. Levy seems to be unprepared to just write off certain players. I've made this point before, what's better in the long run hanging onto players you dont want by asking for unrealistic fees whilst they eat into your wages budget and take up hg/squad spots? Or offloading them so that you can actually bring better players in? Its madness.

Dembele, Janssen, GKN and any other player deemed not good enough should have been gone. Dembele played what 5, 6 games? I know he got injured but we knew that would happen didn't we.

The recruitment aspect and squad management is not been ran competently.

Benteke could fall into a bucket of tits and come out sucking his thumb he is that useless
I heard you say that the other day, and I thought "Oh, he used one of my catchphrases".

I don't mind influencing a young comedian (you're not a comedian) but I usually credit someone if I use their comedy.

I don't particularly rate Batyshuai, but what exactly are we in the market looking for? Young talent like Josh Maja was sold for a reasonable fee, and though maybe we're after Jarrod Bowen, we were also after other English talent like Grealish, Barkley, and Berahino only to eventually give up.

Players like Timo Werner seem like a pipe dream.

So again, what are we looking for?

I think it's time to be pragmatic, a week ago we were in 4 competitions. We are now in 2 competitions and I'd say if we were to make a signing which would have made a serious impact on the remaining competitions then they would have to be top class. Top class doesn't move in January unless out of favour with their club or they're a bad egg, regardless whether it's spurs, united, city or whomever.

If we sign anybody now it's going to be shortsighted and just add to a problem we already have, a week ago yes we could have done with another midfielder or striker but realistically we are 80/90% assured of a top four place. We are far better off continuing to see Winks develop, Sissoko carry on and getting Wanyama back to full speed and giving Skipp some minutes. The forward line looks vastly better now Son is back, Moura is fit and Llorente will improve after coming out of the cold after 18 months of bench sitting and in a few weeks Kane and Dele will be back.

Long term this is best for the club, it's time to stop worrying about investments and focus on arriving into the summer in the top four with a trimmed squad which is primed for new faces in a brand new stadium. As much as we all want new signings, Poch has earn't our trust in the long run, this austerity will benefit the club.

Did Rabiot move or is he still floating somewhere out there in the transfer window ether?
Him and his entourage are going to get paid in the not too distant future, he'll be free in 5 months, Barca could still be his destination just without the transfer fee.

SSN are now claiming that Chelsea have played a blinder by loaning batshit to Palace because they still have to play us, United and Arsenal in the race for the top 4.

Also, we're now at a level up from the type of player we used to sign but we evidently don't have the money for the type of player we now need to sign.

Don’t think it’s solely down to money

As much as we might not like it, I think that a large part of it is that the players we now want\need don’t see us as an attractive choice.
