I know that. I thought the gold medal in the Asian games granted him exemption?
It did - you guys were saying the same thing.

This was what you responded to:
"Because he is a national icon and he chose to play in the Asian Games to successfully avoid national service."

Asian Game = September. He was not required to play in that tournament - it was voluntary for him to go, and for us to realease him. We had to release him for the Asian Cup.

I know that too.....I thought we had an agreement though that if he got the exemption, he wouldn't go to these games.

The only agreement was that he would miss some international matches in November and also skip the first two group matches in the Asian Cup.

The Son thing isn't a big deal from now on. Won't miss part of the season due to national duty until January 2023. This season has been unfortunate, but it's past us now and not an issue moving forward.

Probably not even then...

2022 World Cup ends in December, so its unlikely they will hold the Asia Cup in January.

With us not bringing anyone in unfortunately we are going to have to run him into the ground until Kane gets back. We have no other option if we want to have a chance against Dortmund whilst keeping the breathing space to teams below.
Once Kane and Dele get back we can give him a bit of rest but right now he’s absolutely vital and has to play every game.

Lifted the whole team today. At times we lack any sort of leadership out there. Son is well respected on the team and the guys react to him. I think that helped us today more than anything.

Just wonder why none of the so-called big teams are after him. Is there still discrimination against Asian players?

He's had military service hanging over his head so most teams probably didn't consider. He also clearly loves Spurs & Poch. Couple that with how much we would ask for him, it just probably isn't worth the hassle for most clubs.

he kinda flies under the radar, doesnt he? If there's a bias its in the lack of media coverage. Interesting question.

Loved it after he scored when he had a go at the rest of the team to raise it even more.

Seems like he would die for the shirt, we're very lucky to have him.
