South Korea have just lost to Quatar in the QF’s. Son will now fly back to London and will be available for the next league game according to a report.

I know but this made it a lot worse, he was 0 threat

If he played on the left he could cut in and take a shot or take on his defender and cross it
Or if he played as a striker he would always be inside the penalty area and he could have a few shots

Yeah but now he's coming home so their manager has played a blinder as far as I'm concerned.

Can’t say I am upset by this news. In fact. I would go as far as to say I am ecstatic. Welcome home Sonny. We need you.

I’d rather a slightly knackered Sonny on the bench over Llorente on Sunday. Use him only if needed against Palace.

I want him back as much as anyone, but expecting him to play 48 hours after getting knocked out of an international tournament in Dubai is a bit of a stretch!

I lived in Korea for a couple years and some of my old Korean mates tell me Poch is public enemy number 1 out there cos Son doesn't start every match.

More so than the short chubby fella to the north who wants to wipe the whole country off the face of the earth?

Fair.

He won't play Sunday, but Dubai is a great one to get back from. Multiple flights daily to London. He could be back this evening.

He doesn’t need to start. Only use him (in the final few minutes when players from both sides are a little tired), if we need him to get a goal or two. If he’s on the bench, at least we have that option.

We are not going to win (very unlikely) the title or CL this season . Our best hope for some silverware is the FAC. Liverpool are already out and one of Arsenal or United will be out during this round of games.

He won't be involved. Too soon after this match and travel. His body will be fatigued.

I’ve never been this happy to hear a country I’m not from has been knocked out of a tournament I haven’t watched!

Sonny must not play on Sunday. We have so many games coming up and we are going to need him a fit as he can been. Would rather not burn him out before we need him.

Bench vs Watford, start vs Newcastle, Leicester and Hat-trick vs Dortmund is the natural progression.

To be fair he’s only coming from Dubai. Utd and Liverpool have both been there in the last week for warm weather training. It’s not like he’ll be flying easy jet back either, first class with Emirates is like having your own bloody bedroom

he will be more fresh then the players who will have finished sunday's game, we don't have plenty of options to give our current team rest for sunday's game, which is why i think we will see son feature in midweek

Personally even if he is back would not expect Sonny to be on bench Sunday . He needs a few days recuperation and in the big scheme of football finances for the club the FA cup is not a priority which Poch has already stated . The main objective is to finish top four and after seeing the Deloitte Money League released recently if we can get CL at the New Lane, we will overtake The Woolwich and The West London mob in the money league.

could he not be back for Sunday. Even the bench?

No chance - he probably won't be back in the UK until Sunday.

Son will 100% start v Watford.

100%. Not sure why anyone thinks he'd need to only be on the bench on Wednesday. He'll be as fresh as anyone else available to us after we play Sunday, and he is a more natural Number 9 in our system than any of Llorente, Lucas or Lamela.
