JJ's info makes me raise an eyebrow.
Surely he'd at lease want to replace Dembele and the hole that he's left in the squad.
Seems strange to lose a squad place at such an injury ravaged time?

If true I can only think that poch is planning to give more youth a chance, starting at palace on Sunday.

Right now Poch is the problem. And I have shared that privately before it became public on here. Guy is friggin stubborn. Alright, our budget is not the best, but slightly over 100m. Though not a set budget.

I worry. If you really believe too ending it with academy graduates, to give them. Chance, I am speechless.

I think the notion that Poch is blocking any and all players is bollocks. I completely understand him putting the block on those players he hasn’t identified as wanting and needing. But I don’t believe that he would put the block on players that he has identified as his ‘top targets’ if the club goes all out to get what he wants.
It may well be we can secure Poch's 2nd/3rd choice (or knowing us 4th/5th) now but Poch would rather wait until Summer when he can work with them instead of buying them and dumping a "save our season" expectation on them which is what we all would.

The only logical explanation is that he's got a list of about 3/4 players and isn't budging even if we've been quoted ridiculous prices. If true then I think Pochettino is very wrong as above all he is a coach and he's improved 90% of the players at this club. He surely has to look at potential rather than just the finished article. There's hundreds of players that would improve this squad, whether it be in a first team or rotation role.

Herc - not trying to ask ITK questions, but what does that sentence mean? Auto-correct on the phone mess it up?

Are you saying Poch just wants to give the academy guys the spots, which for a top 4 team is rather ridiculous if you can bring in better names through transfer?

Worked with and for Argentinians for a few years a lot of them a very proud stubborn people once they have their mind set it is extremely difficult to change it especially when it comes to working relationships , pretty direct and loyal tbh.

Having said that with Alli out as well hopefully if the right players are identified he would back purchasing someone ?

There have been some fantastic coaches/managers over the years who have developed wonderful teams, but even they had to dip into the transfer market to help improve/develop a squad to further its potential.

I don't know whether to feel elated or frustrated on this.

Dembele hole = Foyth filling it unless its a HG player.

Well some clarity at least! If it's his wish then at least it indicates he wants to be here next season and whilst I'm not sure on his decisions I'll back the Mo Po!

To be fair to Poch when he is flexible / not stubborn he gets Janssen instead of Batshuayi or Fazio instead of Musacchio and I’m sure Njie and GKN were cheap substitutes for other targets he had.

Well, if he's going to turn to academy graduates then fine. But evidence says otherwise. Poch may be being stubborn, yes. But that's likely because he's identified players he wants and as per usual, the club is offering up cheap alternatives instead. A ton of other ITK from you and others point to Poch not wanting those cheap alternatives anymore and wants players he wants. It is time Levy finally works up the courage to do that and back a manager. Poch has deserved that and much more.

Struggle to believe that with that much money available we are unable to sign 1/2 of pochs top targets in the summer or even now. If he’s being stubborn it’s because he’s not getting the choices he deserves IMO

We’re in danger of making the same mistake Arsenal did a few years ago; holding onto cash at a time when the value of players is going through the roof. A couple of seasons ago £100m would’ve sounded like an absolute fortune, now it sounds like market rate for two first teamers at most for us.

Also I’d follow Poch off a cliff but if JJ’s info is right and he just doesn’t think we need to add anyone then it’s hard not to think that he’s completely mental. Maybe before Dele was injured that would’ve been just about reasonable, not now though.

Identifying players that we have ZERO chance of getting. Come in AVB!

Herc has stated that Janssen purchase was all Poch.
