Alright, I've been calm up till this point, but where do I sign up for the mass panic, that performance was terrible and seeing dele go down, I don't see how we get past Chelsea. Really difficult.
Have you watched Chelsea lately? They have nothing going forward. They are toothless. We have a 1-0 lead, which also means we actually don't have to go looking for a goal. Keep a clean sheet and we're through.

I appreciate that but they have players who can create a little bit of individual magic here and there, It'd have to be a masterclass defensive performance. Personally I'd set us up with Nkoudou and hopefully Moura to counter, that's how desp I am.

As it stands if Arsenal and Manchester United lose one game each we can drop ten points and still make top four, I'm not sure if we can only drop ten points but I am sure Arsenal and United will drop more than three points

You mean like the defensive performance in the first leg?

Yeah but don't forget the tireless work of Kane and Son uptop and Sissoko in the middle. All play a great part in our defensive play.

We are host to Arsenal first match in March, it is fully in our hands.

Considering that we've had half of our starting XI injured at times throughout the season, those who aren't injured played a lot of football in the world cup, we didn't spend a quid in the transfer window, we're playing in a borrowed stadium so effectively have zero home games and Sky have been doing their absolute hardest to upset our manager....... the team is doing bloody well. The players and the manager do really deserve some credit for what they've done so far.

Suggested this type of thing a couple of times even with Kane fit. Son and Moura then, GKN and Moura now

Higuain's got some teeth for them and could be signed in time for the 2nd leg.

He hasn't played for them yet though has he? New signings are 50/50. He might hit it off, or he might have a stinker. He might not gel with the other Chelsea players. Some players don't do well at clubs, while do better at others. Let's wait and see.

Either way we have the advantage going into it, in that thankfully we can field our best backline and do not need to go out looking for goals.

Yep we need to play to counter imo. I really want this win.

Out of interest does anybody know exactly when the deadline would be ? Tuesday midnight or some time Weds ?

EDIT: it still seems to be 12pm (midday) the day before the match. I thought that had changed. So they need to sign him by Weds lunchtime

Ah geeez, why tempt fate and write this? You know that we have long storied history of helping teams find form right when they're having trouble finding form.

9 home games and 6 away games to go. 3 of the away games are to Chelsea, Liverpool and City.
The 3 next league games are at home vs. Watford, Newcastle and Leicester and 9 points there would mean 60 points with 12 games to go. 75 points probably gets us CL, which means that we would need 15 points in 12 games. Should we lose at Stamford Bridge, Anfield and Etihad (not beyond realms of possibility), then it's 15 points from 9 games needed.

So the next three league games are pretty crucial in terms of keeping a decent distance to the hunting pack.

Our current points per game average would set us at 84 points if we keep it up, so lets just do that instead :)

Win our next 3 and I would say the gap to the 5th place team will be at least 10 points. If we could somehow beat palace with a severely depleated squad then we could rest players in a couple of league games and go all out for the cup!

Nah. We can’t take our eye off the league. Anyway, we don’t need to rest players as a lot are coming back from injury. Dier, Wanyama, Moura etc just need a bit of match fitness.
