Wow, I've finally managed to catch up with this thread having not read anything for a few days after jose was sacked. One thing that hasn't been mentioned yet that occurs to me is, I wonder whether one of the reasons we didn't spend anything in the summer was because Poch and his team thought post World Cup and with the Dembele and Wayama situations that we couldn't realistically fight for the title even with bringing in whatever was on offer but would be able to sustain our top four place with the current squad. Therefore it made more sense saving our spending for the coming summer since next season we'll have a much better chance of winning the title with a much fresher squad?

That is far too sensible for this thread :sneaky:

I’d love it if they got Southgate. Not just because it means Poch stays but because they will have to throw lots of money to secure him and let’s be frank, he’s just an average coach. Then they’ll sack him and we’ll have the merry go round all over again.

So many of these articles about Poch are just lies and lazy. I am so tempted to start reporting these to the ipso, just feel a bit sad and not sure it would accomplish anything.

Normally i would bury my head in the sand when Poch speaks as normally it can be overblown into all proportions however i think this press conference was a huge sign of frustration. He is ambitious and can hit the heights he wants at Manure and Real Madrid but it is obvious he wants to achieve this here and is giving us every opportunity to support him.

I dont think it is right for us to just take these press conferences for granted and just assume he 'loves' it too much here to leave - that is not a given. We need to take the next step up the problem is how? if we dont have the cash... if we do then we need to spend that. No one is suggesting spending hundreds of millions but it is clear Poch wants a few pieces of the jigsaw to bring in that silverware/league/CL...

This summer it appears to be a crossroads for us as a club and Poch

I would say it's the same situation for a few seasons now yet the significance is greater now.

LOL, one article that doesn't sing form the Poch will stay eternally hymn sheet, and people are out with their derogatory vocabulary. If one in one's head is toning the article down about 15% whilst reading it, there is quite a lot of possible accuracy. Eg. the latest contract signing and it's supposed proof of loyalty.

Problem for united fans to an extent is that united will never dominate again in the way that they did under Fergie. It must be hard to accept that.

I wish I was a journalist so I could ask him why he starts Davies and Trippier against the big teams cause the journalists are so afraid of questioning Poch

He usually rotates his fullbacks if they are all available.

He played Rose and Aurier against Chelsea on Tuesday. Or are Chelsea not one of the big teams?

Carabao Cup

And he should stop rotating every game especially when Trippier and Davies are so poor
