It probably is dead, but I have no idea what an article about Ribery has to do with Rabiot...
The only relevant link really is that they are both trouble-making Frenchmen who have the ability to poison a squad despite their obvious talent.

Anyone who would like Rabiot despite the huge question marks over his temperament has completely failed to understand the team ethos Poch has so successfully fostered.

His ego says we're not a big enough club for him, so he's not worth discussing.

Poch needs players that want to come & add to what we've got not destroy it.

Ah yes, Bayern Munich just haven't been able to have any success with him in their squad..

I hope we're not wasting time on this guy if he only has eyes for Barca et al. There have got to be quality CMs in. I refuse to believe there isn't a CM out there for reasonable money who'd improve us.

Re Ribéry, why is anyone talking about him? Vile human being, utter filth.

Re Rabiot, I still don’t see the hype. Yes, the potential is there as he clearly has ability and physical gifts, but he also plays for by far the best team, surrounded by superstars, in a league where the next best team would struggle to finish above 15th in our league.

Winks has proven more than Rabiot in his career so far.

I don't know, Rabiot had an absolute monster of a performance vs Barca a couple of years back, I think that's where his reputation mostly stems from.

I wish we'd shop more in Germany tbh.

I agree with most of that but u think Lyon would struggle to get 15th in the PL?

As Winks did last season v Madrid, no?

I just believe we are severely overrating someone who has yet to really do anything. He may well have the tools to be great, but no more than Andre Gomes did before his move to Barca, less in fact given that Gomes did it in Spain, so speaking about missing out on Rabiot as some kind of disaster just seems a bit mad to me.

The club missed a trick not signing me to run their PR... even though I’ve only ever done it at message board level ;)

Absolutely. I’d be far more excited about a link to Florian Neuhaus, who while a tad raw is everything you want from your more attacking CM at Borrusia Monchgladbach. Incisive passing, very athletic, bursting forward to break the lines and join attacks, and for a less fancied side in a top division. I look at him and think “how good would he look with Dele, Son, Kane and hopefully Eriksen around him”. With Rabiot it’s “could he hack being booted about by Burnley and Cardiff?”

I agree with most of that but u think Lyon would struggle to get 15th in the PL?

Slight exaggeration, but more than half the sides in Ligue 1 would be related in this division.
