United don’t have Hazard or Chelsea’s midfield. I think it is good if last night made them think they have a chance, if they come out and play against us I’m pretty sure we will rip them to shreds. Don’t forget this is Sonny’s last game for a while so he is bound to want to sign off with a bang. My entire office is United so we need to smash them.

I agree, but my only concern is fatigue. We looked knackered last night.

United don't have anyone on Hazard's level but they do have a focal point, some very direct, pacey runners who score goals, and are in red hot form - all things Chelsea lacked yesterday and they still should've beaten us.

I think our best hope is that United aren't well drilled or tactically astute enough to nullify us like Chelsea did. Seems Solskjaer's main trick has been allowing the players the freedom to express themselves which, while effective against Huddersfield and Cardiff, would play into our hands.

I still expect it'll be a very tough game though - United are a completely different proposition now.

Sorry, but why are we fearing united ? Don’t get me wrong, be weary but a couple of wins Mourinho probably would of got anyway doesn’t change the fact that this United team are not on our level. Play to our ability and we will smash this lot to pieces.

They have essentially the same squad that came 2nd last year and beat us in the FA cup semis not too long ago. Just because they got sick of Mourinho and downed tools doesn't mean they're all suddenly shit players.

Except Phil Jones. He's definitely shit.

OGS will get found out tactically on Sunday, man for Man we are generally better.

I really think we knew what we were doing last night, they never actually looked like scoring

Watch Phil Jones get a hattrick now.

You think Poch set us up to camp in our own third at home and create no chances in a cup semi final? Ingenious.

Chelsea never looked like scoring because they had no striker, Ross Barkley confusing the moon for the goal, an ineffective Willian and a raw young winger with 1 goal to his name. Hazard can't do it all himself. Sure we defended well but Sarri did a number on us tactically and against a team with some goalscorers we would've been lucky to draw, let alone win.

Exactly, united defence is still ropey as fuck. Yes they will more of a threat going forward but we will have plenty of chances.

Made me chuckle.

We looked like we did against Wolves but Wolves actually have attacking players that can score and fucked our shit up.

My feelings exactly too mate, no way we set out like that on purpose. It would be ludicrous to purposefully have practically no passages of play in their half. We got away with one and other than a couple of balls over the top, never looked like scoring. At least Chelsea can say they lack the personal to score, whereas we had Kane who I thought had a good game for all he could feed off, but also Dele, Eriksen and Son who barely had a sniff in an offensive sense in the whole 90 minutes.

The thing with United is the element of unknown. They do certainly seem better, but have only played relegation candidates so far, so I find it hard to envision how the match may go.

No guarantee that Chelsea would of won had they started a recognised CF, as we defended that well.

Also I'm not so sure their pressing would of been as effective had they one of their lumps starting up front, who arnt exactly the most mobile/hard working.

In fact they might not have had the same level as control had they started one.

Either way, our fatigue was certainly a significant contributory factor in how the game played out.

That's not exactly something that comforts me though, the fact that they were able to do what they did regardless of who or who wasn't starting is somewhat disappointing, from our perspective. And it's not like we can rely on a team to have a lump up front to make things easier for us.

Also most of these players had a weeks rest so I'm not sure how much fatigue was an issue. I just think we really struggled on the night and couldn't deal with them pressing us so high up the pitch. They completely neutralised the space between our defence and midfield so our bridge to the attacking players was non-existent.

Like I said last night, we did defend well, but they can actually be quite toothless in front of goal too. It's no coincidence they failed to score at home to Southampton and failed to score at home to Leicester whilst losing too. I find the stand out element is that we still beat a Chelsea team not playing very well ourselves at all, which despite the performance, is a positive achievement. But regardless of that I'd hate to watch any other game play out like last nights again. I didn't find it good viewing, personally.

Thing is, I don’t think Kane had any intention of getting that ball once he knocked it past Kepa. He was thinking get the touch, knock it past him, and there will 100% be contact as soon as I feel the contact I’m going down. That’s what I think his thinking was in that split second. Could be wrong though as I’m not professor Xavier.

Thing is, at Wembley that doesn’t guarantee us a penalty. We’ve been badly treated by refs over the last 2 years there

It was dreadful viewing. But they pressed us very high and we laboured on the ball.

So, two things but very much interconnected.

When fatigue sets in, players generally want more time on the ball. The one time we saw some great pass and move patterns, and one touch stuff was when Kane forced that great save in the second half.

But that was it. Everything else was slow build up, trying to play out from the back and with their press it was just painful.

I'm sure Poch didn't envisage that happening but when you start a match quite slowly as a collective it can be hard to break out of it.

I think we did look a bit fatigued, certainly on the ball, even though we defended resolutely when needed.

Need to be vastly improved for Sunday. And if we are, we could rip United apart.
