To be fair Chelsea shows how to play against us and Man United have more teeth up front.

Their forward three will harass us and we need to not allow ourselves to be hemmed in so close to our own goal as we were last night looking for a long outlet.

I like the fact the standard response isn’t “come on boys it’s spurs “

You're assuming that we're going to play at a snails pace playing out from the back though.

We're at home, with four clear days rest. I expect us to come out and set the tone on Sunday.

I was at the game last night and can't really recall us looking for a 'long outlet' whatsoever.. We passed our way forward slowly but fairly efficiently.. Chelsea did know how to play against us.... We won ?

We did though. We were looking for long balls into space a fair amount and seemed to want to draw them onto us by playing backwards constantly, rather than looking to retain the ball in midfield.

Probably a deliberate tactic, but Chelsea did well to cage us in as much as they did, looking to ensure we couldn’t pass through midfield as much as we would like and taking the risk that they could handle the longer balls. Obviously it didn’t work as well as they hoped as we won with just such a ball...

Will be interesting to see how Man Utd lineup, though I expect more of a 433 from them and any more open game in midfield... maybe.

not sure 4 days clear rest will be much "REST". we might get lucky and they will be given the day off today.

to do play pretty slow from the back at times, and if any team does hit us with a high press we do struggle (Wolves 2nd half, Arse and Liverpool), and to be honest with Hugo in goal we will see the difference between him and Gazza when it comes to distribution if Utd do high press us.

what does give me hope though is United have a shit defence

Redcafe on the next game

Come on Poch, you don't want to manage a EL team next season. Do the right thing please.
This guy's spot on - Poch doesn't want to manage Man Utd. About time we saw some objectivity from a United fan.
PS. I'm fully aware he's insinuating that Poch should let United win. The silly smegma-breath twit.

So there's seem to be people implying that was a dive by Kane and not a pen ?

Wow. I mean, I'm open to discussion regarding the alleged offside position, but that's just a blatant penalty all day long.

(Those videos always make me laugh though)

It's just bitter chelsea fans and arsenal fans trolling. Everyone else knows it was a penalty.

It's not the first time Kane has "dived" like this.

It does look a bit silly, but I think it is a purpose behind it. Getting both his feets of the ground to avoid injuries.

Feck 'em.

Back pages reporting Spurs won first leg 1 - 0 via a Kane penalty.

That'll do for me.

Haters gotta hate
Moaners gotta moan
Bitches gotta bitch

Penalty all day long. Couldn't give a toss about whether Kane acquired the perfect 10.0 score for aerial performance and landing, their silly sausage of a keeper decided he was gonna wait 10 minutes and then rush out and make a shambolic attempt to get the ball.

Bookies paid out on a Spurs win.
@Shepspurs awarded me points for a correct prediction of a Spurs 1 - 0 win.

Conclusion: Feck 'em

I'm not questioning the actual tripping. As you say, he does this sometimes and the actual falls can look very divy.

It’s not a dive and is a stonewall pen but Kane knew exactly what he was doing. He played for the pen as 90% of strikers would’ve done.

I haven’t played much football since I was a kid but I remember once getting cleaned out by a goalkeeper in a school match and it kicking me high in the air and doing a 180 degree turn before landing on my arse. All my mates thought I’d dived because it looked so ridiculous, but me and keeper knew he had gone straight through my trailing leg.

So it might look theatrical but it’s a stonewall foul and Kane himself might not be doing much to make it look so ‘divy’ - I’d imagine Kane is moving a lot faster than I ever did and I’ve still been sent spiralling through the air in those circumstances!

P.S. I got the penalty!
