We all knew he was going sometime soon, fairly sure he said he could not handle the premier league and i figure getting money for him now is better than not. Such a pity though as he has been a brilliant player that has played in some great matches for us but it feels like his injuries and how many games have to be played are too much for him now.

Gosh. Dembele leaving really does feel like a massive chapter ending at Spurs. Signed after Modric left and coming into a team that lacked belief, it was incredible to watch his evolution under Pochettino into one of the Premier League's best midfielders.

Just such a great player to watch live - I hope there are plans for him to return to Spurs in some sort of coaching capacity as I can imagine how inspirational he must be to train with for our younger players (like Onomah, Winks and Skipp).

Will be gutted to see him go, but his ankle has never been the same since that big injury in the 16-17 season. Good luck Mousa!

Hasn't he said that he won't be involved in football after he retires?

very rare you see a player who terrifies teams that's not an out and out striker. will always remember the way he absolutely destroyed united for both us and fulham single handedly.

just an absolute rolls royce of a player, best of luck to him.

Criminal if he does actually go and he's not replaced.

It's not like this came as a surprise... should have signed his long term replacement in the summer already, to find one in January is nearly impossible I guess

Selling him makes sense given injuries etc/ last pay day et al. Not replacing him at this stage of the season will be utterly ludicrous. I know he has been injured but we are literally one injury to Sissoko or Winks away from putting way to much pressure on our youth players. Granted Dier will be back but neither he or Wanyama can offer what Dembele can.

Good luck to him. A truly great Spurs player.

You know that feeling you get, when your eyes water after you’ve been kicked in the nads by an angry Doctor Martins-wearing donkey? That’s how I feel right now

Sensational player. I remember that one season when he and Wanyama played CM together and we just dictated every single game. Also he had a knack for destroying Man Utd. I will always remember the 3-2 at Old Trafford under AVB when Dembele just bossed everything. And he only got better after that.

Maybe it's my Spurs bias but I thought it was bonkers that Belgium didn't start him regularly during the World Cup.

I'll miss Dembele.

I agree but we also need to sell two more foreign players just to be able to register all the players we have. I can't see us making a non-UK signing unless Vorm, N'Koudou and Janssen also go this window.

We can fit Foyth in the CL squad by leaving Vorm out.

I would like to say that he was the first player i had seen live other than modric that i had, i guess i would call it a football player man crush. I just thought wow how good is he on the ball, he just dominated so many games in midfield. He was quite different to Modric obviously but could just dictate games with his control, power and skill. I remember a game against Villa and he just pissed all over them and bossed that whole midfield.
