Poch deserves massive credit for how he's handled KWP. We always had to be patient with a youngun as small and slight as him. But as always the payoff is well worth it.

And, likewise, KWP needs massive credit. Like Winks, he's biding his time, staying patient and clearly putting the work in on the training ground. Fingers crossed he goes on to have a top class career with us.

Liking he showcased his creative side today.

Of our three right backs Trippier has always been the strongest creative-wise so even though I’ve often advocated KWP to play, there was always that niggle that we could perhaps suffer creative wise.

Then KWP goes and gets three assists today! ??

Tbh not really fussed over which of Auriel or Trippier could perhaps be sacrificed if we thought over-filled in that position as they both bring different strengths, my main thing is I really want KWP to make it and establish himself as first choice.

Thought it was a bit naive to leave 2 vs 2 so early on in the game, especially with Dembele staying up and the searing pace he has.

I actually thought it was poor at the set-piece to have Rose all the way over on the opposite corner of the pitch if he was just going to be a decoy left foot...whether that was down to Danny himself or Poch is unknown.

KWP recovered a bit from it, but we looked noticeably stronger when Sissoko went out that right side IMO. Thought it might have been too big a game for him too early in his career and think turned out to be the case.

Needs to work on his upper body as much as his genetics will allow.
Agree with this however we all wrote Kane off, he was slow weak couldn’t shoot etc, now look at him, he’s a machine, KWP is still very raw and young, I fully expect Poch to take him to a very high level but yes he does needto bulk up a bit to be more like Danny rose strength as much as his genetics will allow for

How was his defending?

Bournemouth did fluff a few pretty good chances tbh. Can't remember him being too much at fault though, but when you're battering a team it's not something you really take too much notice in.

No we all didn’t, some of us have patience with youngsters and don’t rush into snap judgments

Awesome

3 into 2 doesn't go though so I wonder who is off in the summer :shifty:

I reckon it will end up being Trips.

I'm not a big fan of Serge and he's had plenty of time now to have settled and demand the starting berth. However if he improves his inconsistent.

I was thinking about Perriera and the fact we appeared to opt for Serge. It's looking a bollock dropped by I wonder whether the thinking was that Perriera would be more likely to block KWP's path as they have similar attributes.

No not all wrote kane off. Many of us give our youngsters time to mature and don't hype them or write them off before they have had a chance to grow into their role and become experienced playing premier league games. I've said before 22 is around the age you start seeing if a player is going to make it or not. This is as much mental as physical. How will they react to fame ,wealth and pressure? Will they push on? Or will they be distracted?

I think we could get over inflated money for trippier. But I’d probably say trippier/kwp is a better combo. I’d also reckon Eyoma can do a job If needed so can Dier. Shifting one of Aurier trippier makes sense.

If he added 15-20 lbs of muscle without losing his quickness he would be perfect. His weight is the only thing that concerns me at this point other than just gaining more experience, which will of course change over time.

He didn't make a tackle in 90 minutes and barely had to defend in the first half especially.

He had one of his best games in a Tottenham shirt, but people are getting a bit carried away with the whole 3 assists thing and MoTM IMO.

The first was as lucky an assist as he'll get with a pretty simple pass to Eriksen before the luckily deflected strike, the second KWP did well pressing, but ultimately got lucky with the mistake from Daniels before he gave it to Sonny with a slightly more intricate pass. The third was a thing of beauty, that volleyed cross was fantastic (we've seen that cross a few times before from KT).

They had a bit more down the right hand side in the 2nd half and positionally I still saw some things I wasn't a fan of, but from watching us, I'd say that's down to our tactics rather than the full backs themselves.

I actually thought Ryan Frazer (who is far from a wonder player) had a bit too much space at times and was able to play some dangerous balls for them. Bournemouth also had Charlie Daniels out his side who had a bit of a mare, so it's not like the opposition was top notch/on their game today.

Personally, I'd probably prefer him ahead of Serge every day of the week tbh, but would still like to see him tested defensively more before I got carried away.

Would I play him in the biggest matches with the situation we're currently in (potentially fighting for the title)? Probably not tbh, but he's getting there.

Will be telling what the rotation is when Aurier returns from his muscle problem.
