Oh I agree.

But im sure it bloody helps to try and keep them. Eriksen will want to start winning stuff.
It might stop them joining lesser teams but Barca and real are just something else. We've always had the "what if we... Pay them more, get in the champions League, win trophies etc but the prestige of those clubs is probably what most aspire to.

If we sell him i sure hope we get a replacement who is pacey, mobile and can knit play together. I want a tottenham pressing machine like no other!!!
Otherwise just swap him for isco (which is what o suspect we are trying) or buy a top cm and play lamela more in his position until the summer.

Are there even any rumours of Real wanting him? Could understand his position if they were all over him, but given how it’s so quiet, this just seems really disloyal. Surprised Poch hasn’t ostracised him like Walker and Alderweireld.

There is something we can do. We can boost the squad with a signing or two to increase the chances of winning trophies.

Trophies are what keep players at clubs.

Last time we won a trophy we lost our strikeforce.

Sorry but it is delusional to think we can keep Eriksen from wanting to sign for Barcelona.

its real mate. not much difference though
i think it depends on what trophy, winning the league or CL is different to winning carabao cup or FA cup

What makes you think we would make a swap deal? When did that last happen?
Just because we haven't in the past doesn't mean we won't in the future. Personally I think we will try and get Isco, Asensio or Ceballos out of RM. Doubt we will get any of them, but it would make a lot of sense to try.

Thanks for the update !

Bit surprised it’s Real with the talent they already have for his position. Plus will they really want to deal with Levy again and is Eriksen the sort their fans will want ?
You say that, but there is no secret that Solari doesn't get on with Isco and that, as good as Modric is, he isn't getting any younger. A new Modric is one of the positions they want most. Thing is, they just got Vinicious Jr and Rodrygo is joining in Jan. Both play LWF so not sure how strongly they will chase Hazard. RM are trying to be more frugal with their spending and targeting young players and those with contracts running out.

If Eriksen has decided to leave then really we need to sell him in Jan if we want any sort of significant return, unfortunately, if RM know they are the only club he wants and will not renew his contract then they are in control. Levy doesn't really have much wiggle room as we know he won't force Eriksen to run out his contract and go for free. Our best option will be to try and get one of their players in return as I'm sure Isco won't want to stay if Eriksen goes. But, really, we all know Eriksen will go to RM and Isco will go to City.

If it is Real he is interested in surely this must depend a little on the next manager they go for? I know Perez really buys who he wants but surely would seek to get players a new manager would want? Of course nicking our best players may be a way of teasing Poch away from us

Selling Eriksen in January might completely derail our whole season as I see it. We still have a very good chance of winning something this season, to do so we'll need Eriksen.
