Tbf I would be well pissed off if he’s trying to run his contract down, there wasn’t many others in for him when he signed. (Our style). Yes he’s put his time in for us but he should sign up and let us have a bit of a negotiation ledge. Coutinhio (sp) sorted the Liverpool board out. Let’s have a bit of loyalty back Eriksen

If he is hanging for Barca only, do they need him enough to pay him more than we will. Possibly not.

Our position is strong and arguably we are on the rise still too. Will we challenge for prem next year? Champions League again at a new stadium. We are difficult to walk away from.

Barca would need to stump up $200k per week to make it worthwhile, but I’m not sure they’ll want him enough.

hope levy makes another infamous "gentleman's" agreement in a similar vain to Modric's. That we'd let him join barca if they make a reasonable bid.

Barcelona are rich enough to be able to pay their squad players a huge wage. And you're making the assumption that his desire to move to Barca is based on wages. They are one of the biggest clubs in the world, they challenge for, and win, league titles and Champions League titles year after year.

I personally can't see why Barca would want him enough to have to deal with negotiating with Daniel Levy. But I can 100% see why Eriksen, who turns 27 in seven weeks, would want to go to them.

Can’t understand why Barca will want him if they sign Rabiot and they already have Coutinho.

i think he won't think about his future until next summer, as it is affected by numerous factors, e.g. poch's future, the club's status, the club's ambition, other club's offer etc.

Very difficult to infer much from those comments beyond the obvious, Pochettino would like Eriksen to stay, Eriksen night stay, Eriksen night not.

I guess the one thing it does strongly suggest, given Pochettino’s use of time periods, is that Eriksen won’t be allowed to enter the last year of his contract.

I’m working more on what JJ has said, that he has his heart set on Barca. If they don’t come in for him, he’s happy to stay.

He’s not going to go for less money.

Im talking more about what I think Barca think he’s worth, considering their current midfielders. I don’t think they’ll pay much more than we will offer him for his new contract.

Agree on the Levy call too.

Its Real not Barca and we obviously don't want to lose him.
Not money related and has turned down all our contract offers.
Its dynamic is code for we are wanting him to sign but not willing for him to take this into his last year and go on a free!
That's if Real even want him which we cant say as his agent will be talking to them.
Hugely disappointing but not much we can do other than make sure we dont lose one of our prize assets for nothing.

Such a shame if we end up losing him.

But if we go through another window without recruitment to boost the chance's of winning silverware, can you really blame him?

There is something we can do. We can boost the squad with a signing or two to increase the chances of winning trophies.

Trophies are what keep players at clubs.

Thank you for the update, albeit not what we want to hear. Always appreciated.

Sounds like we’ll protect ourselves, and there’s not much more we can do. I doubt we’d low ball him given that we paid what it took to get Kane tied down. I just hope there’s already a plan/ irons in the fire for if we do have to sell.

Thanks, JJ.
January or the summer if he goes then. Most likely the summer. We just need to get our heads down and focus on the rest of the season

Having said that, when you haven't a pot to piss in I'm not sure what can be done.

Thanks for the update !

Bit surprised it’s Real with the talent they already have for his position. Plus will they really want to deal with Levy again and is Eriksen the sort their fans will want ?

If he leaves then fair play to him for getting his dream move. He has been fantastic for us and I won't begrudge him a move to Real. Will be extremely sad about it though and worried about the impact in our team as he is possibly our most important player

Sounds like a disappointing situation all round. Not impressed by the rejection of contract offers (that won't be a popular opinion but that's cool)
