IM, Onomah is lacking work rate. He needs to look for the ball and make runs when his team are in possession and track his marker & get back into his defensive position when out of possession. Physically and technically, he is fine, it's mentally and tactically where his problem lies.We post a lot about how great the youth players are and the qualities they have but I'dbe really interested in hearing a really balanced explanation of where and how these players can improve without us putting it down to luck?
My personal view is that one of the reasons KWP is being held back is physique. We can see the physical difference between Foyth last year and him this year looks at least 5kg heavier. If KWP can do the same I think he'll be in the first team very quick. It's obvious that is something important to Poch because you can see Kane looks heavier too (although in his case it's disrupted his game)
What is Onomah lacking and what can he do to improve those areas?
My worry is these things are not really qualities that can be taught easily. I think they are more about being aware of your surroundings.IM, Onomah is lacking work rate. I'm not wound up at all. My comment about changing your opinion on a whim wasn't an isolated reference to just Skipp, but your opinions on players in general, you have history in regards to changing opinion from one way to another based on a singular performance.
Anyway, its derailed the thread now, so Ill just leave it be from here on.

That's harsh, I think coys200 is without doubt the best poster on this forum
I would say that both Winks and Skipp provide tremendous energy and both look very busy even when they are not playing at their best. Onomah tends to look lazy and this works against him. Both managers and fans often get frustrated by languid players such as Onomah and as a result they are often the easiest ones to drop when things get tough. A good manager would get the best out of him but I feel he needs to feelI see what you did there.I've had a look through some of his posts and my opinion has changed. He is a bit hit and miss and is probably a mid table poster at best.
This may be a crazy suggestion, but Gibbs-White to me, is going to be one hell of a CM. I'd be happy if we went for two CMs this January / Summer.
One established - 50/60m. But i'd be happy to try and tempt Wolves for this youngster, they don't need the money and 25m might not even be enough. But watch this kid go, so much potential.
Looks like Troy Parrott is on Poch's radar which is encouraging to see
