Why did we not go in for Maddison or did we put in a derisery offer?
He would fit in with our style of play and its obvious to anyone with eyes that he is quality. I'm sure we could improve him and if need be sell him for more than we'd have paid for him. Was a no brainer imo

Maddison has made it clear he will choose playing over a contract.

I believe he is the perfect replacement for Eriksen, should he leave, but he was only going to sit on the bench this season if he joined us.

went for him before he went to Norwich but rumour has it he decided on Norwich for more chance of playing. this time round we was trying to get Grealish, but don't think he is a great lover of Spurs as he put a bit of a derogatory tweet out about us as a club. plus even if we did he would still be a squad player with us, where as with Leicester the competition was less of a hurdle

I think that says a lot about him too - he's stepping up and feels he needs to play to do so, for me that's the right call.

Back when City (and Chelski for that matter) were snapping up these types of youngster (before moving beyond that and/or producing their own) a lot of players went for the deal over the actual game time - i don't think it generally worked out well at all for the players who made those choices.

We have a massive advantage in next 12 games and need to capitalise. Decent chance we could be 2nd and close to city. Sorry cba to type it out again.

I hope we can mate - we need to start finding 5th gear to maximise our return in those games through a busy period. I still fancy us to do well but the way we've generally played this season tells me a few of those games will be hard work.

A couple of good results can do wonders for confidence though. Let's see what the next game or two brings.

Yes but money talks and bullshit walks.
I refuse to believe he went to Leicester because he wanted to play and there was a better deal on the table from another club.
I'll bet my left nut Leicester offered more money than anyone else.
Agree he'd be a good signing.

Do you think Norwich offered more money than us as well?

If you think Levy is tight then fair enough but it doesn’t explain every single deal that doesn’t go our way.

Your going back a bit their mate. I'm talking about this season when he was looking for a move to a PL club.
I'm not saying anything about Levy being tight. Thats your words not mine.
I'm saying imo if we really wanted him we could have got him over bloody Leicester. And we should have.

My point is Maddison chose Norwich over us when he joined them. Clearly not a money decision his side.

Leicester could offer him immediate first team football whereas we couldn’t.

Maybe he would have joined us if we had thrown a lot of money at him but we won’t know that.

Do you know for a fact we offered more money than Norwich?
Just asking.

See Holding is out for season. Arsenal down to x2 fully fit CB. Be amazed if Koscielny will be if any use to them now. Adding to Welbeck that’s two pretty useful squad members gone that will need to be replaced along with possibly Ramsey. Not all so rosey in their garden.

I’d still rather finish above them by playing better football than by having fewer injuries. I think our players are better, but their Coach seems to be better at getting the best out of his players. Can’t have it all I ‘spose...

Yes their coach has certainly made them very dynamic quick passing and they have lot's of goals in them as well, their defence needs work but probably he will get that right so they are a threat no way was they going to languish below us for too long.

If Poch is here until the end of the season then Spurs will be runners up. City are the best. Spurs are the best of the rest. Liverpool's 'challenge' is nostalgic cobblers. Their defence is stronger but they are not title contenders. Some will disagree with this naturally but ask yourself this. Now Spurs are 8 points behind City could we catch them? Of course not. Why? Because City will win the vast majority of their games against the top 6.

Is this true of Liverpool? I think not. I suspect the dippers could dip in the new year. Especially if City open up a gap. Liverpool playing catch up to City will see them drop points in their games against the other top 6 teams. Under pressure Liverpool will get closer to the pack behind them than City. Once Liverpool accept the league has gone; Spurs could be the team to slip into second during the run in. The goons deserved to beat us on the day but they wont last the distance. Chelsea are in transition and it's not the type of building project they have embarked on in the past. Chelsea are on their way down if the big spending stops. United are back to being United before Ferguson. A cup team.

Spurs runners up.

Have to say it’s only when you see Sevilla had a net spend of -£25m the two full seasons Emery was there you realise what a good job he did. Looking at their squad on paper I really thought they’d struggle as United are. However they are topping the running stats and I’ve a feeling they may burn out and injuries will start coming. I think they will tail off and we will be comfortably clear of them.

I think city are good enough to win the CL along with the league but if Liverpool go out of the CL then for that's their best chance of the title spurs on the other hand will not be 1st, or 2nd imo.

I have been critical of Liverpool in the past but the last 18 months they have made some really good signings and are functioning very well as a team.

Disaster for them aside I can't see anyone but them challenging for the title. City are just so strong. Would be mightily impressed if we got 2nd.
