Match: ____ English Premier League (EPL) - Day 15

When: ____ Wednesday 4th December 2018

Where: ____ Wembley Stadium

Kick Off: ____ 8:00pm

Referee: ____ Anthony Taylor

Team Form: ____ Spurs WWWWL ___ Southampton LDLDD ____ (All competitions)

We have won 8 of our last 10 home games against The Saints, losing in September 2003 and May 2016. Since returning to the EPL in 2012, Southampton have just won of their 12 EPL meetings with us (D2 L9), winning 2-1 at WHL in May 2016.

We have had three different hat-trick scorers in the EPL against Southampton (Steffen Iversen, Jemaine Defoe and Harry Kane). Only Arsenal vs Leicester and Man Utd vs Newcastle (4 each) have had more against a single opponent in the competition.

The Saints are winless in 12 games in all competitions since beating Crystal Palace 2-0 in September (D7 L5), their longest run since May to October 1998 (13). Since the start of last season, Southampton have dropped 33 points from winning positions in the EPL, at least 7 more than any other side.

We have scored a league high nine headed goals in the EPL this season. However, no team have conceded more headers than us (6). Kane has scored 6 goals in his last 5 EPL games against Southampton, including a hat-trick in the exact fixture last season. Dele Alli has had a hand in 8 goals in 5 EPL games against the Saints (5 goals 3 assists), more than he has vs any other side.

Stuart Armstrong has scored 3 goals in his last 2 league games for Southampton and could be come the 1st player to score in 3 consecutive EPL appearance for Saints since Manolo Gabbiadini in March 2017

I expect attendance to be under 30,000 :inpain:

I've decided not to bother. Why should I pay full whack to Levy in these circumstances, to prop up his investment- when tens of thousands of fickle stay-aways have already long since voted with their feet? If you can't beat em, join em.

I'd imagine its cos we can only have a set number of games at higher capacity. And soton on a Wednesday night in Wembley isnt an attractive game as shown by the fact it's on general sale.

They've just announced Ralph hasenhuttl as their new manager. He previously managed RB Leipzig

Edit, I'd imagine he may be in the stands for tonight

points are points - even if the arsenal points come with bragging rights.

win the games we are supposed to and we're half way there to top four.

the measure of a good team is putting teams like this to the sword and winning at a canter.

They’ll be up for this. No Hughes, ready to prove themselves. We’re better, obviously, but facing a team with one hell of a point to prove.

Have to say fully expect after Sunday's woeful performance a result here tonight and maybe a few goals too bound to concede also.

Great performance v Chelsea, then backed off a bit but got away with it v Inter, then backed off some more and got stuffed by the Arse. I'm assuming Poch has pointed this out to the players and that he expects SCBC to be brutalised.

Going to be interesting to see what Southampton turns up, (as well as what Spurs do). They ran Utd well on Saturday and havent had the rub of the green even if they are not the greatest side. New manager always has an impact but this game may come too soon to provide that lift.

If we show up properly there is no reason why we shouldnt stick a few past them, score early and that will be more likely.
