What do you disagree with then Shadydan? Why not articulate your point instead of resorting to name calling, again, I was asked and tagged.

What I've said is Foyth should stop making silly tackles like that and Aurier was at best 7/10 on Saturday, either make your point or shut the fuck up tbh.

I think Foyth should be added to Champions League squad in place of Vorm.
Whiteman is a competent keeper who could be no 3 behind Hugo and Gazzaniga.

He is just adjusting to the pace of Prem Football, London Derbies (which makes him prone to rash challenges, being hundredths of seconds off the muscle memory pace). Once he is in sync with that he has all the tools to be epic.

Despite the result and the mistake, I have no doubts he will be a an amazing CB for us for many years to come. He has the support of one the best young managers in the game and is surrounded by equally supportive teammates. As weird as it might sound, this game and his performance against Arsenal will probably teach him more than 5 "easy" games against other teams. We can't always control the outcome but we can learn from past experiences and improve, which i'm sure Juan will focus on.

With hindsight he wasn't that bad, yes he made a couple of stray passes etc, but you accept that with young CBs. Vertonghen is the one who really cost us today.

In fact Foyth made an excellent header to take a chance away from Boomerang.

I thought Foyth was one of best players despite a couple of errors.

He's faced the acid test with Chelsea and Arsenal in the space of a week, and easily passed for mine.

I'm comfortable with him being a starter for us, knowing it will fast track his development into an amazing CB.

If you look at his 'mistake' when he gets the ball not one of his team mates is in a position where he can find them with a pass, his only option when he receives the ball is to hoof it, had he done this we may not have conceded but it concerns me more that Eriksen or Sissoko were miles from him.

Reminds me of a young John Stones, a ball playing CB prone to silly mistakes but like Stones he'll mature and improve.

Verts gives away a pen then gets sent off yet all I saw in the match thread was people giving Foyth a hard time because of one mistake. Wierd. I thought he did well overall.

Made a mistake leading to a goal
against Arsenal.
The ultimate sin and hard to bear.
Often mistakes go unpunished
but not yesterday.

So let's not make him the scapegoat
for overall managerial and team failures.
Of the back line he is the most defendable.

Yes Toby should have played
but that's beside the point.

Anybody else find it weird he’s only been thrown in since the press release came out that said he would be looking to leave to get more playing time?

Poch has took a huge gamble throwing him in its almost well you think you are good enough prove it?

Now poch can turn to him and say see told you this level isn’t easy

I think you went too far. Foyth played very good against WHU in Carabao Cup, then Sanchez and Vert were injured and we needed someone to play with Toby.

Actually, Dier had to cover DM, CB and RB yesterday. Foyth and Aurier were terrible. They were targeted and it all came to a head. From poor give aways, to costly mistakes, to losing their man. They are equally at fault. Cant solely blame Aurier when they were making Foyth look pub league as well.

How people say he was fine is beyond me. He was entirely out of his depth. Looked like he no business being out there. He has alot of potential but he should not be starting these games. He’s not ready yet at all for this level. A PL loan to a lower table side would work well for him, IMO. A top 4, high level race is not his level yet. He’ll get there but this is way too much, way too fast.

All the worrying signs of mistakes compounded to come up all at once yesterday. Rash decisions, losing the man, give aways, being out of position. He was not good yesterday and the 1 change that was obvious to make the entire game was Toby for him.

1 he is very young and inexperienced
2 correct he did make mistakes I never said he didn't.
3 he was picked by the manager he isn't going to say "No boss I'm not ready"
4 a lot of the time he was out of position was because he had to keep covering his right back or his own position and ended up doing neither as can happen when you are young and inexperienced
5 when I said he was fine I meant in terms of development not he had a good game which he did not but there was circumstances that made that all the more difficult.
6 I agree Toby should have started.

100% this. Really unsure why Poch didn't make the change early in the second half when it was clear he was being run ragged in the first half.

Aurier is not great...but he certainly needs a strong centre back next to him. Sanchez also looked shaky next to Aurier.
