His major problem, is that he is athletic managers think he could be moulded to a wide player when its unnecessary imoLooks like was played right midfield in a 4-4-2 against Norwich...
Right midfield.. sigh..

His biggest problem is that he hasn't got a natural role. Central midfield in a 4-4-2? No chance. I wouldn't play him as one of a two in a 4-2-3-1 either. So he has to play as the creative influence in a number 10 role. Only he isn't creative. People keep talking about him coming back to Spurs and winning a first team place but in truth I am not sure he is even good enough for the Championship.
Agree he absolutely needs to work on his defensive game showing he can be relied upon to track runners and hold a decent shape, because he will never make it as a#10 imo. He's got the defensive side in him I believe he just needs to mature, and unfortunately that takes time. People really do need to remember what's it's like to be 21 years old.His biggest problem is that he hasn't got a natural role. Central midfield in a 4-4-2? No chance. This is where I disagree, IMO he is clearly a CM/DM. However you need a manager and coach who is willing to play the style to suit him. Part of this problem is down to our academy, we had a clear idea on how we wanted him to progress and then that has made him less malleableHis biggest problem is that he hasn't got a natural role. We should have sent Onomah on loan to Germany or Holland. Or kept him close as we're very light on CM's.

Mason Mount isn't the typical idea of a CM for 90% of the championship but under Lampard, he is being utilised in CM and having a great impact. We do shit loans and they got worse after Sherwood left!

Watching the Sheffield derby, and Wednesday is terrible, they can hardly get a moment on the ball. Goes to show these last two years in the Championship we've sent him to two absolutely horrible sides that don't give him the opportunity to play his game. Josh isn't exempt from his poor performances, but his performances arent in a vacuum and we should have sent him to a side of more ability.
I watched a bit of that game, he was on the left as well playing as a winger . Not sure what needs to happen for it to click for him. Maybe we should recall him in January, there's gotta be a better situation/team where he plays and develops as a CM/DM.
Why recall him? If he can’t get a game as a cm/dm at Wednesday he is even less likely here
My full quote read, "Maybe we should recall him in January, there's gotta be a better situation/team where he plays and develops as a CM/DM". Essentially, recall him in January, sit down and explore his options and hopefully find a better loan in January for him.
