I meant resting players during our game for the ireland game which they will see as the big one. Also just reading that curry left the stadium on crutches which is terrible news. I'm so bored of the constant injuries in rugby it really ruins it.

I don’t think they’ll be resting to many. England is a big game for every team and they’re to professional to underestimate you. Sure, Ireland will be the one they’ll expect the toughest game from but they’re still going to be playing your Taylor’s, Franks, Whitelocks, Squire, Reid, Barrett (all 3 probably) Smith (both of them), SBW etc etc.

Not 'yet'.

'Still'.

I was aiming my question at you. Your answer, while tongue in cheek, did not disappoint.

Doubt he’s even in the top10 at the moment. Has he had a good game since the Lions?

We all know why he played well on the Lions tour. Coz he was alongside a true great, a giant of the game, a hall of famer, the man who enabled Itoje to play his game, the man who improves players he plays alongside just by his mere presence. Welsh royalty, Alun Wyn Jones.

I don't wind up as easily as Mr TSH!

You’re no fun.

I miss TSH.

Joking aside, you obviously know I’m taking the piss.

Not about AWJ, obviously. Everyone knows he’s the best.

Yeah yeah ...

Maro just makes me smile. Wait til he grows up!

Just the question marks about Fullback, 10-12-13, Scrum half, the front row, the second row, the back row, the composition of the bench. Apart from that.......

Definitely in terms of getting the team playing rugby and as part of the wider search to cure the midfield issues. Farrell is a solid, resilient character who will kick his goals and you know what you're getting but it's no coincidence every coach he's had at international level (England and Lions) have pushed him to 12 from 10 at various points. It's not to say he cant do it, but he has weaknesses when running play over multi-phases and his passing accuracy and crispness and variety isn't great - last week for instance when May/Nowell broke and we got into the 22 and had SA on the backfoot for once, Farrell threw two poor momentum killing passes during phases which stopped us applying pressure.

English rugby fans and media seem to crave a 10 that kicks goals and puts in big defensive hits and shows 'pashun' and will help grit out wins, ie. searching for the heir to Wilkinson. Less important is a fluid attack seemingly...... I'm not saying there isn't a place for him, just I think it's at 12. Ford/Cipriani for two examples are more naturally talented attacking fly halves, who play flatter to the line, and I'd rather see that intent to play and ability on the field.

I agree with a lot of that. On his day, though, he’s a world class player who wins you games by himself and not just from the boot. As you’ve pointed out in your other posts your forwards haven’t exactly been providing an excellent platform for the backs in the past few games. Like I say though I agree with a lot of whst you say about him.

I don’t rate Ford, personally, and Cipriani is getting on now but they are better attacking 10s (Cipriani more so)

I think Farrell has proved himself to be exceptional whether he plays at 10 or 12.
