I’m not pre-ordering it unless they can guarantee it’s release date.

How much do you reckon it will cost ?? Stadium estimated at £1bn so divide that by anticipated number of book purchasers and everything's paid for.......sorted !! (y)

This is a bit annoying, because it creates a completely false picture of the so called naysayers and yea-sayers.

This is a large construction project. Everyone knows that such projects can and very often are delayed by unforeseen problems. Everyone knows that no one can guarantee that the Tottenham Stadium will be done by any specific date. Levy himself has made it clear that he does not know for certain when the stadium will be finished

It isn’t accurate to group people into those that think the stadium will definitely be done by a certain date (1st January) and those that think it will be ready for next season. The real distinction is between those of us, including me, who think that the stadium could plausibly finished in the next couple of months if things go well, and those of us (the “naysayers”) that think that the club already knows that there is no chance of the stadium opening this season and are hiding this fact from us.

The naysayers have not actually been proved right at all so far, because there has been no evidence whatsoever that the club has deliberately provided opening dates that they know cannot be met.

I still think that the stadium could be finished by the new year, because that is what the club seem to be suggesting is plausible. That doesn’t mean I think it definitely will be finished by the new year. It may not be finished for the start of next season for all I know. But there is a difference between uncertainty and lying.

This is true - perhaps naysayers is the wrong term as it implies taking sides (though that's how I have perceived others painting them). My point is I have noticed a certain amount of negativity toward people who talk about a timeline different to the one they want, or one that is further away than the next game that hasn't yet been moved to Wembley.

When Pochettino came out in a presser and said we'd be in for Christmas, a few took that as a means to bash people who had a different opinion, asking how they could possibly know more than the manager, even if they were working on the building site... well... The club / construction team have some form for missing targets on this project and like other construction projects (as you point out) it is notoriously difficult to manage timelines. Hence why I referenced the Lyon stadium build in my previous post.

I think we need to keep an open mind on when this stadium will open. Going on previous form there is reason to not just dismiss those working on the project re: timelines.

We all want to get there. Here's hoping we are in for the Man Utd.

Oh, can I just throw in, for those who think the alarm issue was either untrue or just a cover for a bigger issue.

The alarm system was not only a problem for finishing on time, but is still not (reliably) sorted. The club have to have members of the fire service on site at all times in order to monitor and respond to any issues as part of their responsibility to keep anyone on site safe. All these little things which one wouldn't otherwise know or consider lend weight to the information we've had.

Jeremy Wilson (Southampton fan who’s never forgiven us for taking Poch) with a fluff piece in today’s telegraph that other clubs are unhappy with our stadium delays. Sounds a load of bull but gives them something negative to talk about for a while.

Someone should let Jeremy know his club is in a relegation scrap and most of those Southampton players will never get to play at Wembley again. They should be grateful! lol

Since the pitch is already laid i'm not sure that really means much. Keep us informed though.

I tend to agree, however with so many rumour's flying around about us not playing until Febuary / next season, him starting Saturday would suggest to me that we will be playing sooner.
